  1. Mike Bobinski and The Search of Doom

The future is looking grim for Tech athletics. If we can't get a good coach to come here, even for a pay raise, then why would we think high caliber athletes would. Something is seriously broken and needs to be addressed pronto! As far as the coaching search, we know a few of the issues. 1...

    Par for the course!

Kenny Payne? KU assistant. Great recruiter and is known for developing 1st round NBA talent.
  4. The Search 2

I hear Brian Gregory is available!
  5. The Search

I don't think Capel will leave Duke unless it's for insane $. He's next in line once Coach K retires. I think it's Drew, but we won't hear anything until the tournament is over. The NCAA prefers schools wait to announce until after the tournament.

Valparaiso really didn't play anybody tough on a consistent basis. 2 decent wins were BYU and Florida St. They also played Oregon really close. I really don't think we can look at that though. The 4 and 5 star talent wants to play at the big schools in the power conferences. I don't think Coach...

I'm excited about Drew. Look what we've been dealing with the last 5 seasons. It's got to get better. Tech shouldn't be a hard sell for 4 and 5 star talent. Location, education and new facilities.

Either way it's a big upgrade from Gregory. I'm sure Drew realizes the importance of having a really good point gaurd. As far as Capel...why would he leave Duke?
  9. The Search

Looks like MBOB has dropped the ball. You would of thought that he would've had someone in his pocket before firing Gregory. Looks like Gregory 2.0 is on the way!
  10. The Search

It's Drew. Waiting on NIT to conclude.
  11. The Search

I thought Tech was going for a big hire, not another experiment.
  12. Chuck showing CBG some love

Gregory is not an ACC caliber coach. He is terrible at recruiting....which is part of coaching. I mean....he just admitted to how important having a good point guard is. He honestly thought he could compete over the years without an ACC caliber point gaurd. That says it all. And why was Heath...
  13. Okay folks its time

Gregory is definitely terrible at recruiting. Alot of our better players have been transfers. That's not getting it done. Georgia Tech was always known for great point gaurds. Gregory has recruited zero!
  14. Okay folks its time

I say keep him if we're not going to hire a really good coach that can get us back to being a top tier team in the ACC. No reason to pay 3 coaches and still struggle.
  15. Recruiting strategy, not the star system, is the issue.

Being a tech fan, I wonder if our style of play has a negative impact on recruiting. Why would a top receiving prospect want to come to Tech? We're a run based offense. Why would an elite RB want to come to Tech? He's not going to get his 20+ carries every game. The running duties are spread...
  16. Miami Today 1pm ESPNU

It's pretty simple. Gregory doesn't get it done recruiting. He doesn't get it done developing his players. He doesn't get it done coaching. Not enough players are contributing offensively. The majority of the players are inconsistent. Follow the stats. It's not hard to see where most of the...
  17. Paul Johnson

We have struggled all season with defending the passing game. If our defense is constantly practicing against our style offense, then they are not getting much practice defending the pass. I really believe it's the system. Nobody we play runs our system, so that puts our defense at a...
