I seriously wonder how much our coaches are doing to try and help the pitchers. Same story, different year---so many of our pitchers don't get significantly better over their careers here. It's disappointing to watch these kids who obviously have talent go out there and struggle with control...

Agree on Peurifoy--he has been great in CF. He may have gotten to that ball which resulted in a triple and he also may have had a couple of chances throwing runners out (although he had a chance in LF and didn't make it happen today). We definitely fell apart. Unless Shadday said he was done or...

I had heard Lee prior to today's game.

I don't think players can receive a redshirt if they play after a certain point in the season regardless of how many games he would play.

Need some bounce back performances from Curry and Hughes. Who will start Sunday--can Schneiderjans be ready to go? Maybe even Shadday?

Ineligible is also what I heard, but apparently he will become eligible mid-semester (not sure how that works...).

I've heard Connor Thomas should be available to pitch pretty soon and apparently he was very good in the fall. If Curry and Hughes can improve as he season progresses then maybe Ben S. or Thomas can nail down that Sunday spot, we could do pretty well. As you mentioned, the bullpen could be...

Clutch hits from Wilhite and Murray give us a 2-0 lead in the 7th. Schneiderjans and Shadday have done great thus far. Throwing strikes makes a huge difference. Let's get some insurance runs then shut them down in the 9th!

Only Datoc (2.2 ip), Shadday (1 ip), Winborne (1.2 ip), Archer (1 ip) and Gibson (0.2 ip) did not give up any earned runs this weekend. We pitched 14 guys. 9 out of 14 pitchers gave up at least 1 run. Miami scored at least 1 run in 15 of the 27 innings they came up to bat (8 inn Fri, 11 inn...

Dulaney started a few games last year and struggled mightily in that role. His ball has a ton of sink---he may be one of those guys that hitters figure out the 2nd time through. All that said, I'm not opposed to giving him a chance to crack the starting rotation. I hope Lee does well tomorrow!

We are playing very sloppy. It is very discouraging year after year seeing our pitchers have so much control issues as well as it seems their velocity never really rises during their years here...in fact their velo seems to drop more often than not.

True on Parr. Wonder if he is hurt has mentioned previously. If so, hope its nothing serious.

It's possible that Lee has made the most starts on the roster without fact checking other than King. He made probably 4-7 starts last season is my guess.

Miami is currently 4-7 (they play FIU tonight) with three close losses to Florida. Their offense has been awful. This will be a good measuring stick to see where we really are right now. Curry will be pitching on the road for the first time in his GT career and Hughes hasn't pitched away from...

If Curry, Hughes, and Gibson can give us quality starts all year, then that will help our bullpen tremendously. I think CDH would love to have SP go 5-7 innings, then Ryan in the 9th...so that leaves 2-3 innings where we need some guys to fill. Carpenter is likely the guy he's looking at for the...
