I think academics; but they think they can get him back eligible this season. Not sure how that works..maybe it's a GT thing and not NCAA?

    Statesboro Blues

I think them two and Archer are the only pitchers that haven't seen any action yet. I know Dulaney left summer ball early last year bc of arm trouble, but I thought I heard he was pitching in the fall. He was our best long relief guy at times last year. Are Curry and Shadday the only other...

Opening Weekend - BYU/ Marshall / Western Michigan

If I remember correctly (which it's very likely I don't), ACC didn't do great the opening weekend last year either. I didn't get to see Curry, but did get to see Hughes and Gibson live. Both looked pretty good. Hughes hadn't pitched in a real game in almost 11 months, so he wasn't super sharp...

Opening Weekend - BYU/ Marshall / Western Michigan

Sweep! Great weekend for the Jackets. Curry, Hughes, and Gibson all looked good. Pretty much all the relievers got to throw an inning or so. Austin Wilhite and Craport were the offensive MVP's, but pretty much everyone hit well. On to Ga Southern this week for another W!

    PLAY BALL!

Murray had a great catch in LF to save at least a run, then King induced a fly out. Datoc came in and threw one pitch to get a floyout to RF. Still up 4-1 in B6.

    PLAY BALL!

Gibson went five and only blemish was a solo HR in he 5th. King is in now and in a little bit of trouble. 2 on, 1 out T6.

    PLAY BALL!

Parr was nicknamed "The Vulture" last year for a reason, haha! Agree with you though. Hughes looked really good at times. 7 K's and 2-3 walks will bump up that pitch count and that's the only reason he didn't get to go back out in the 5th. Smart decision by CDH; I'm sure he would've liked to...

    Baseball - Preseason (too early?)

I'm hearing it may be Gibson. As @THWG mentions, Parr was very good in relief last year. If I recall correctly, CDH had very high praise for Gibson last year preseason and he also had flashes of some good stuff last year---if he has improved his command, he could be a really good pitcher for us...

Opening Weekend - BYU/ Marshall / Western Michigan

I think that just re-emphasizes that Ryan is the closer. Datoc and Carpenter may get a few saves, but Ryan is the go-to closer.

    2017 ACC Baseball

From what it looks like, most every game would be available to watch on the WatchESPN app. That would be great--but like you mentioned, hopefully none will have a "blackout".

Opening Weekend - BYU/ Marshall / Western Michigan

My guess is Curry was the most consistent in the fall and now. We all agree that was our problem last year--outside of Gold and Gorst, we had nobody we knew each time they hit he mound, they would 1) throw strikes and 2) not get completely rocked. Curry likely has looked the best with his...

Opening Weekend - BYU/ Marshall / Western Michigan

Guess it really depends on how King has looked. Maybe he's still not at full strength? BYU is actually a good team---D1 Baseball has them ranked around 27th and their SP on Friday is supposed to be pretty good. Will be a good matchup for GT.

    Baseball - Preseason (too early?)

So sounds like Austin Wilhite will likely be the starting SS at least until the other guys get healthy. Heard Curry may be SP Friday afternoon. With King being on a 50 pitch count, then I'm assuming Hughes will start Saturday and then Parr or Gibson on Sunday? Here's my guess on Friday's...

    Baseball - Preseason (too early?)

Game week! Interesting they have Hall that high--I haven't heard that he is definitely the starter at SS yet. He probably will be, but think that is one position that was still undecided this past week. Here are my projected starters in the field: C - Bart 1B - Poje or Stallings 2B - Bailey...

    2017 Pitching Preview

My guess is the weekend starters will be King, Hughes, and then one of the following will be competing for that 3rd spot: Parr, Curry, Lee, Dulaney, Gibson. That's assuming Ryan will be our closer again and King/Hughes are healthy. On Wiseman, I wonder if he made the team as more of a...

    2017 Pre-Season Roster

The only three names that I notice right away not being on the roster are Shelton (at Georgia Gwinnett), Bobby Gavreau (wasn't here in fall, not sure what school he's at), and Griffin Jolliff (freshman that played in the fall, not sure why he's not on the roster).
