  1. not about Minnesota

If he’s half the recruiter you think he is, the results should show up next year. Studs don’t need time to develop.
  2. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Imagine being an adult and this worried about what other people think. Yeesh.
  3. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Yeah, I agree with that. But I think that’s probably the case for everyone outside of a handful of blue bloods, and even among them it’s the transcendent ones. I mean, no one gives a rip about SC or Texas or Michigan now. I could probably count on one hand the number of teams people really...
  4. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Sure. I guess my point is that outside the fans of a certain team, the result of an isolated game is . . . isolated.
  5. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I wonder if he can tell us - without Googling - who won the Arizona-Arizona State game last year, and what happened.
  6. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

The answer is probably none, because we lost and 2014 still happened. Weird, right?
  7. Virginia Postgame

Offense looked like a different team today. We lost, but at least we competed today.
  8. Could use some luck...

Helluva win, Gophers. Didn’t see that one coming.
  9. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Last time, and yes. You said - and apparently were not joking - that Bill Lewis left the program in a better place than Paul Johnson. Have a nice evening.
  10. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I think for the time being I’m just going to ignore you.
  11. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

No, no. I’ve been reliably informed that Collins is going to improve our recruiting to such an extent that we will be competing with heavyweights. Alternatively, I could say that my position has always been that I’m willing to roll with a coach who gives me the boom years every five years or...
  12. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I think you and I have a different idea of success. Averaging five losses a season is not my idea of success.
  13. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Isn’t the larger issue that if he’s the recruiting savant people say he is, he won’t need that long to produce, since his players will be higher rated and thus better able to contribute immediately. The tell here is that when you press on when it’s reasonable to expect results, they hem and haw...
  14. not about Minnesota

Yep. This is the core of the disagreement.
  15. Could use some luck...

It helps playing backup quarterbacks most of the season.
  16. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Right. My expectations are, shall we say, tempered. But Baylor was awful for decades before Art Briles showed up. It’s possible, though unlikely. I don’t think Collins is ever going to get us to 10-2 year in and year out, but I wouldn’t object if he did.
  17. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I think this is reasonable, but the issue I take is that getting back to where we were under Johnson isn’t an acceptable goal. There’s no point in doing a teardown to get back to where we were. Collins himself has set higher expectations. I am fully on board with going through a season or two...
  18. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Not sure if you know this, but your comments are all still up. This is the tu quoque fallacy. Well done.
  19. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Seriously, who cares? There is no harm, and you are not obligated to respond. Frickin’ grow up.
