I'm hoping Pyron learns some smarts about his toughness also. CBK mentioned that somewhere that they needed to sit him down in front of the computer and do just that.
He without doubt in my mind was the worst, somebody had to get us through the biggest transition I've ever watched GTFB have to go through and I've been watching a long time, I'm real old :). BL was the next worse but not by much, at least BL left us with a little better roster to work with...
What I see with Zach I think, at least I hope, is play making ability - my most favorite attribute in a QB, especially those that seem to be able to step up at crunch time. It will be fun to watch him develop.
I've never said it was going to be easy, but I believe it gets done, we'll see over next several years. May be a little quicker than it was 10 years ago.
The young Tech fans do not realize we can and will compete for players that they think only other schools are able to obtain, only time and success will show them we can compete very well for those type players. They will begin to understand in a few years IMO. Jacketup I believe is exactly...
I think we do want them, did not know I said that, I think we want kids that want both, I probably made a mistake adding the "main interest" sorry 'bout that.
I'm not sure we would want a kid that has as his only or main interest going to the NFL, that just doesn't seem to fit the profile of a GT kid that I've seen over the years, maybe an exception here and there.
Not in the next few years, but out in the future years somewhere it would not shock me to see UF, UT Austin, TXA&M, U. Kansas ending up in the BIG All AAU schools representing good to great media mkts.
I'm not a great marketing person but it just seems to me that we have to start winning first and then all the visual stuff helps add fans over time, I've watched this before after Bill Lewis and then O'Leary and it seemed to work the way I'm talking about.
Wonder if recruiting college kids somehow becomes like recruiting HS kids and their families to move, job offers etc. I would not say this except a few years back I would never have thought the paying of CFB players possible either.
This is my take, there are two primary requirements that the BIG requires: 1. AAU member (ND the only exception according to them) and good to great media mkts. FSU does not and will probably not have either one of those in the foreseeable future. GT has both and Miami has one and will probably...
Is this the beginning of a long unraveling of the ACC? My guess is yes. How long no one knows, but my guess is that some schools end up SEC, some Big 10 and the rest in the Big 12 excepting Duke. Duke gets out of FB and goes strictly BB. Two other schools look to not have a fit anywhere, BC and...
One of the best at talent evaluation according to some connected with the pros.
I've talked with college players that said they did not like it in the pros, was not fun in their opinion, it's all business. I mention this because it seems to me this may be the mind set that makes it hard for pro...
I'm not a believer in Pro coaches being head coaches at college level, but looks to me like pro coaches being OC and DC, or assts works well and let the college guys run the program , recruit etc. It seem to work well in Athens.
A clear and easy path to raising all the funds needed to build everything needed for gtfb(it funds everything else) as well as paying off all our debt and including what is needed to rebuild bds for the longterm future and needs for other existing sports. I have to disagree about adding any...
I'm not sure where we really are in player personnel, my guess is we have enough coupled with discipline, mental and physical toughness to get to 6 or 7 wins regular season.
I'm guessing we do, seems like we are becoming a place of opportunity for bright, rising coaches. Unless CBK has another need for something/someone else that is available which could be possible also. Maybe someone already on staff.
