  1. Conference Realignment

I don't think the ACC would accept less since that would set the precedent if other schools wanted to leave. If the top 3 or 4 schools leave, the ACC media contract falls to a much lower level. Stanford, SMU and Cal don't make up for FSU, Clemson and pick one (UNC, Miami, etc.).
  2. GT over/under 5.5 wins in 2024

I think it is a combo of mediocrity performance, aging fanbase and completely lost the sidewalk fans to UGA and other adjacent schools. The last time we were at least somewhat relavent in this state was in the 1990s.
  3. Fox, Warner and ESPN Team Up to Create Sports-Streaming Platform

ESPN property includes SEC Network and ACC Network.
  4. Conference Realignment

If you get enough teams out West, would make sense to split into divisions to let them play each other on a regular basis. Split into 3 divisions and Top 2 Ranked Division Winners play each other. Assuming FSU, Clemson, UNC and Miami depart. West - Stanford, Cal, SMU, AZ, ASU, Colorado or Utah...
  5. College football is a mess

the school would need to make them employees. Have to wonder how an Ivy League school would feel about this.
  6. Conference Realignment

There are very few independents left...most are in a conference. And schedules are normally out a few years. I don't think it will be easy to put together an independent schedule for a few years. Since the GOR don't belong to FSU at the point, why wouldn't their opponents want to play FSU at...
  7. Conference Realignment

Another thing is streaming services such as Apple TV and Amazon have aligned with professional sports. It is not inconceivable they might want entry into College Sports to have more content. While not ideal, the ACC is in a lot of large markets.
  8. Conference Realignment

I don't think they are in love with the ACC.. SEC by far first. My point is they don't want the Big Ten competed in their playground. FSU and then others would dilute their hold on their monopoly in the South.
  9. Conference Realignment

ESPN has to want the ACC to fight this tooth and nail. They control the South now from TX to VA between the SEC and ACC.
  10. College football is a mess

Money plays a big factor in how much you can pay coaches, have more scouts, improve facilities, etc. It is no coincidence that the top programs year after year usually have the most money.
  11. Conference Realignment

I agree they will split off. But my guess is it will be for football. There are advantages to have NCAA tournaments for other sports. But create their own superconferences and rules for football seems very realistic. Most of the TV money is associated with football anyway.
  12. Conference Realignment

It would be interesting to see what years drew these viewership. FSU lost 3 games in 2012 thru 2014 with 1 year being National Champions. I don't think starting in 2012 was arbitrary. I wondered what would be the results in the last 5 years. Clemson could cherry pick their playoff years as...
  13. Absurdly Early 2024 Predictions

When you click on DL, the stats don't change but the search list appears to be just DL. A quick count shows 79 uncommitted for the DL. A lot of them are freshmen who I would supsect have little or no playing experience.
  14. Absurdly Early 2024 Predictions

And I think UGA will be on a mission this year to get one of the top 4 seeds to get a bye
  15. Conference Realignment

I think sooner vs. later, the ACC Network and the SEC network will be an add on subscription to ESPN. If ESPN is required to get the conference networks it would be additional revenue.
  16. 2024 ACC Football Schedule Reveal - Jan 24th, ACC Network and ESPN2

I don't agree that the ACC and FSU were targeted from the beginning. I think if UGA had won FSU would be in. I think the circumstances dictated this. Alabama defeated the 2 time defending national champion with a 29 game winning streak on a neutral field. So they have to go in front of UGA...
  17. Absurdly Early 2024 Predictions

I picked 7 wins but we need a lot of transfer pickups on defense to make that realistiv
  18. 2024 ACC Football Schedule Reveal - Jan 24th, ACC Network and ESPN2

We already have UGA every year, Notre Dame this year, Colorado in 2025 and 2026, at Notre Dame in both 2027 and 2029. So we hsve 2 P4 games in 5 of the next 6 years. And how exactly are we playing 2 away games at Notre Dame in a 3 year period?
  19. 2024 ACC Football Schedule Reveal - Jan 24th, ACC Network and ESPN2

It's earlier than normal but it is game 6. So that makes sense. I don't see Notre Dame at Mercedes and the remaining 2 games are in November.
  20. Conference Realignment

I think a major part of this being so skewed is how teams are ranked at the beginning of the year. For example ESPN for 2024 has 7 SEC, 5 Big Ten, 2 Big Twelve, Notre Dame before you get to the first ACC ranked team FSU at number 16.
