  1. Let's keep some perspective here on our NEW HC

I think he needs to be judged on the full season. Clearly Bowling Green was another epic failure. If he can still get GT to 5 or 6 wins, get a good recruiting class (maybe around 30), and not lose best players to the portal I would judge that to be a success. Flip of that is 3 to 4 wins, lose...
  2. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

I would expect Batt was hired to significantly improve revenue. That can't be done without consistency of success from football and basketball. I would bet his hand is heavily involved with both in terms of hires and strategy.
  3. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

I think it shows both the other coaches and players that they will be held accountable for performance. I think the desire was clearly not there for GT on Saturday. Coaches need to motivate and expect players to perform at high levels. If not they need to be replaced.
  4. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

another question with this is how does this impact recruits especially on defense. Changes and unknowns normally spook recruits.
  5. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

Batt knows we have to win in major sports to improve the revenue outlook. I think he will have little patience for failure.
  6. Bowling Green Post Game... 😢

The issue with a lot of our decisions is lack of money for athletics. Big money programs can fire coaches with lots of money left on contracts. We can't. Ergo why Collins survived for almost 4 years I feel like we are a small market MLB team.
  7. Bowling Green Post Game... 😢

We obviously had a lot of issues. My biggest problems were getting totally drubbed physically, still can't tackle one on one and outschemed on both sides of the ball. The last two are consistent themes. We have to have more effective coaching and better talent. I originally projected 5 wins...
  8. Game 5 #BGvsGT Media

My big concern is coming out with lack of intensity and leaving Bowling Green in the game. Being over confident against inferior talent puts you at risk. I am not worried about what the coaches say to the players but how 18 to 22 year olds take the Wake Forest win with a grain of salt.
  9. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

I think the best College Football teams have mobile QBs. I think the key is when to get down and not take big shots. But a threat of a QB who can run opens up lanes for running and passing.
  10. ACC Standings

Regardless of who made the decision, we have got to finish games. Our 4th quarters excluding SC State have produced much weaker offense and left the defense on the field. Though we outscored Wake due to turnovers, we would have been outscored again. Hopefully will not matter against Bowling...
  11. One year ago today, we were set free....

I i think it was the money he was still owed. That came down to giving the previous coach a 7 year contract. Whether Key works out or not, he clearly sees this as his big chance. Turning over the majority of his staff certainly seems like he has a definitive plan
  12. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

definitely puts a bowl back in play. A loss would have been rough. Interception was so huge with WF driving for a tie TD. Gutsy performance. Clearly need to clean up the penalties but nice to talk about thst with s win!
  13. Postgame GT 23 - Ole Miss 48

the only games we will be favored is Bowling Green, Va and probably Boston College. Need to steal two and in my opinion most likely are Wake and Syracuse. I think Miami, UNC, Clemson and Georgia will be big favorites
  14. Postgame GT 48 : SCST 13

They have to have to blitz to get pressure on the QB. Realize that exposes the DB more. But against good QBs vanilla defense will yield tons of points. By the way bitzes should also apply to run blitzes to try to slow down opponent's rushes. Louisville 2nd half and yesterday exposed we can't...
  15. Win Total Predictions

I am also surprised Syracuse is that big a favorite playing in Atlanta. I would think that would be more of a tossup.
  16. Conference Realignment

It is interesting to read the Clemson, FSU and UNC blogs. They clearly have no interest in any other thing than getting to the SEC or Big Ten. All are saying they are looking at ways to get out of the GOR. If that was feasible, I would have thought USC, UCLA, Texas or Oklahoma would have gone...
