Wow - that's a pretty interesting indictment of the current and previous regimes. Going 3-9 in 2019 was more fun than 2016 or 2018? The PJ locker room must've been an interesting place if going 3-9 under CGC was more fun than the 9 wins of 2016.
Well, I hope "fun" turns into "more victories"...
If he thinks this is the correct thing to do on Punt Returns, someone needs to politely tell him otherwise. I don't do social media - can someone please tweet him this little ST factoid?
Since it happened numerous times throughout the season, I want CGC to explain why he thinks it's a good idea to field punts inside our 10 yard line.
"Because the superior athletes at Temple do"?
What I've always heard re: PJ & recruiting is that he was somewhat screwed out of resources. Does this mean that previous coaches had them but the resources were then taken away from PJ? Or that they weren't there at any point?
This isn't a difficult question. My belief is that it's more...
"It Is What It Is" and "It's never as good or as bad as it seems"...unless it's CGC as HC. Then, apparently, it really is as bad as it seems!!
Did Gailey have "more resources" in 2007? Were these resources just snatched away from PJ? And why would such resources been taken away from PJ?
I too have read this excuse hundreds of times but have never seen the proof of the accusations before. Without proof, it comes across as...
It's interesting - we were something like 25th defensively in 2008 and it just went downhill from there. Was that due to not getting another Michael Johnson/Derrick Morgan on campus? Practicing against the Option? Lack of recruiting due to the option or PJ? Bad scheming? Poor D coaching...
Most SEASONS, it looked like that. It's probably partly why PJ went thru 4 DCs in 10 years.
Literally no one has ever said that the PJ era D "only" faced the option in practice. But when they faced our 1st string Offense (thus our fastest, most-talented players), that's what they faced. I'm...
It's better than any time in the past 9 years or so. Definitely FAR better than Coach Woody defenses were doing. We take far better angles to ball carriers and wrap up better these days than in recent memory. Opposing ball carriers don't bounce off us anymore like they had been doing.
