I would sure like to know how Jordan and L-Davis did.
  2. Give me a break, Paul

Experience taught me that it generally takes about 4 weeks to get a team in playing (hitting) shape, getting organized and establishing routines and discipline, getting fundamentals practiced, preparing to play a game, shuffling players to get them in the right positions and building depth, and...
  3. What's your prediction for the season?

Well thought out list that should get a lot of agreement, including mine.
  4. What's your prediction for the season?

IMO the second team defense is way ahead of the second team offense. Roof has built quality depth such that there is not much dropoff from 1st D to 2nd D in the back seven. The 2nd D was strong against the 2nd O in the Spring Game (shutout) and Roof had to sub a lot (cramps and knocks) in the...
  5. Music to my Defensive ears

The following is my lifetime recollection of defensive changes in college football, relative to read and react: Read and react defenses matched up well with the offenses in the sixties to the eighties (before the spread-the-field formations, rule changes helping the offenses, and the...

In a Spring or post Spring depth chart he was shown as backup to Davis. at LB.

    Lance Austin?

Freshmen info has been silent on T Marshall, Howell, B Morgan, Glanton, S Morgan, Henderson, Sellers, Curry, Alexander, Mitchell, Cooksie, Wigley, Dotson, and Walker. Heard very little on Gray (CPJ says he's doing OK), ST Amour (CPJ says a freshman DE may play), Philpott (wearing a red shirt...

Unfortunately one of the favorites is in a knee brace and another has postponed enrollment to rehab his knee. A 5 man race among JeT, Snoddy, Cottrell, Benson, and Walker would be exciting, but even a race among the three healthy ones would be interesting.
  10. Two bigger worries than Cottrell or Lands-Davis from this morning's AJC

Prefer Gotsis, Freeman, and Simmons (or Whitehead) with Davis or Marcordes coming as well.
  11. Nate Cottrell out for year, Mikell Lands-Davis moves to A-back

Andrews vs Jordan should be ? either way Perkins vs L-Davis could be a tradeoff and in the long run be a + Hill vs Willis slight droppoff overall but Willis could be a blocking upside
  12. Nate Cottrell out for year, Mikell Lands-Davis moves to A-back

I do not see much dropoff, except experience, from last year: Snoddy vs Snoddy should be a slight upgrade Bostic vs Searcy should be an upgrade Zenon vs Lynch should give up a little quick and pick up a little muscle
  13. Nate Cottrell out for year, Mikell Lands-Davis moves to A-back

2013 we started the season with 8 ABs and 2014 with 7 ABs. I would love to see Jordan and MLD as 5th and 6th and if no one else gets hurt McClellan would be #7 and the rest (smaller players Jarrett and T Marshall) could RS along with Cottrell. Due to injuries we only had 4 healthy scholly ABs...
  14. Are we where we want to be?

I'll chug but I think to have that double digit win season we need a step up performance from Devine, Kallon, and Summers (or Jeune, Stewart, or Philpott) and either Allen or Skov need to shine. Devine rounds out our OL. Kallon completes our DT depth and gives flexibility to use Gamble...
  15. Matthew Jordan Practicing at AB

Last I heard it is still 3 yds.
  16. New your advice.

I usually park there. You can get a prepay "reservation" via the internet. Its a downhill walk to the stadium and therefore a little more challenging walk back, but you can get a guaranteed space ahead of time.
  17. Matthew Jordan Practicing at AB

    Better said.
  18. Media day Videos....

I talked to one of the veteran players at the CFBHOF night and he told me that CPJ had become much more hands on with the details in practice, something he was not doing when he first came to the program.
  19. Matthew Jordan Practicing at AB

I am a long time football fan and also a long time (devil's advocate) football coach. As a fan I agree that I generally like the unexpected and exciting successful gimmick or the "Fridgen" do most anything at any time anywhere. I suspect us fans are in the majority. However, as a coach my...
