  1. Red Shirt vs Playing as True Freshman

Last year Kagawa and Lewis only played STs and I believe Merriweather played very little except STs. These were three very good freshmen athletes chosen early in the season to be a regular on STs. A lot of "second teamers" played STs such as L Griffin, Hankins, Devine, Brigham, Fromayan, both...

I am still wondering about the lenghly instructions CPJ gives the player on the sideline bringing in the play. Said player then sprints to the huddle and appears to give the QB a quick one word translation. The QB immediately abbreviates the word and the huddle suddenly breaks. It is not a...

My plan, as a first guide, would be to look at the position depth 3 years out. Big guys and the QB typically take 3 years in the system to become a contributor, with obvious exceptions. So for 2016 recruits I would look at who is eligible and who I expect to contribute by position in the 2018...
  4. Marcus Marshall

    and Leggett
  5. Marcus Marshall

I haven't seen them play yet but CPJ has. He already quickly decided Marshall over L-Davis. Skov, Allen, and Quaide are the bulls (as was L-Davis). I think he wants the home run BB in the mix and Marshall is the one. CPJ has some BB plays to get Marshall in space. IMO he stays at BB.
  6. Marcus Marshall

I do not think Leggett is cleared medically to play yet.
  7. Marcus Marshall

One obvious error. Lawrence Austin listed twice and Lance omitted. Probably should be Lance at CB and Lawrence at safety. Since the base 4-2 is not shown the defensive LBs and safeties are hard to really understand relative to who would be on the field together in the 4-3 and in the 4-2..

The only concern area I see for 2016 is DT. With only 2 experienced players coming back it would be good to have Glanton or Henderson or S Morgan to play some this year.....maybe even two of them. I agree we have the experienced numbers at the other positions.

Good point but suspect it is very hard to predict...maybe someone who wants to move on to a medical major.

We had a lot of backup players (such as Griffins, Austins, and Jeune) on ST last year, including some walk-ons (Willis, Alford, and Connors), seniors (Dennis), and OL backups (Brigham, Devine, and Fromayan), and freshmen (Kagawa and Lewis). Seems logical that the seniors and maybe new starters...

I think in Glanton's case we are senior and junior class heavy in DTs and we need some pipeline. In Anree's case it may just be a matter of great talent, but from a pipeline point of view I would rather see him RS.

Agree. Things "getting done" are dynamic as attrition, player maturity and development, and new recruits can change any of these issues with time. These things learned from Camp are a baseline from which to start prep for the season....and things will change. Last season for example Joe was not...

Agree with the 7-10 total including maybe 3+/- to ONLY play ST.
  14. #GTCamp15

That is what we did with Lewis and Kagawa last year and Merriweather played very little outside ST downs. Would not be surprised to see 3 +/- freshmen play only ST this year.
  15. Georgia Tech’s Option Play and Offense

That makes sense from better blocking angles. Thanks .
  16. Georgia Tech’s Option Play and Offense

Would that change depending on whether we are running into a 1 technique T vs a 3 technique tackle?
  17. Dive/Shaq

Agree with the comments about Shaq's blocking but there were also many blocks by Burden (on the LB) and Joe (on OLB or DE) where the defenders would have been seeing skyward but a big body on top of them was obstructing the view.

From my (limited) perspective "we got some things done" : The BB rotation seems to be decided among Allen, Skov, and M Marshall. The now and future QB seems to be settled: Thomas, Byerly, Martensen, and Campbell. ABs Snoddy, Searcy, Willis, and Lynch grown to include L-Davis and Jordan. Devine...
  19. Isaiah Willis?

I agree. The height, 5-8ish, and the fact that Onwuala is an AB indicates its not Campbell but most likely Onwuala. Too hard to confirm from just the pic.
  20. #GTCamp15

JJ looks like a LB. Who is AB number 10? Searcy is beefed up more than I realized! L-Davis missing.
