I'm sorry but the man is the 19th highest paid coach in the country. For that money, we haven't finished a season ranked in the top 25 since 2009 IIRC.
He makes $2.75 million per year. Mark Richt only makes $3 million and his team has beaten us every year but one since he's been there and they...
Several thoughts:
1) Johnson's buyout at the end of this year is just over $10 million IIRC. Therefore, I think he'll get one more year. Not because he deserves it...but because the perception will be that we cannot afford it.
2) Personally, I HATE this offense. I hate running the ball 85%...
I won't speak for the poster you were responding to, but what I was referring to earlier in the thread was that I felt like we should have been in the shotgun in obvious passing downs. For instance, the entire last drive, when everyone in the stadium knew we were passing on every play...that...
I'm just curious about something. Let's just suppose that GT does go 7-5 as one previous poster opined. Given the past two seasons of ball around or below .500 ball, what are your thoughts on CPJ's foothold as a coach at Tech?
I know he has a big buyout so nothing will happen for a few years...
I know he did something. But what he DIDN'T do was narrow the splits. When we get to goal-line or short-yardage situations, we narrow the splits to a more usual split. Just doing this alone would have made it more difficult on obvious passing downs. But to keep the splits that wide when...
Sure. Just because I WANT Tech to win that doesn't mean that I think they will. Ask Vegas. They're predicting Miami to win as well.
Again, I'd love to be wrong. But this is a prediction thread so I gave it my honest opinion.
What do I WANT the score to be? 42-0 GT.
What do I THINK it will be? 42-17 Miami. I think they'll do the same thing that VT did and jump the snap count between the center and the guards on both sides. If we stay with the huge splits like we did vs VT this year and every other year, we're...
I agree with pretty much your entire post. I don't think he played a good game but I don't think it was the dumpster fire most people do. I'm still flummoxed as to why we never adjusted our offensive line splits when they kept jumping the gap the entire game.
Not true. He did a few times. For proof, watch this play: the linebacker comes through untouched on a blitz. Vad throws off his back foot falling backward, but completes the pass downfield to Godhigh.
(Oh yeah...this is the very same video you posted in the Awesome Godhigh link. Maybe you...
Go back and look at the line splits. We love to run with these wide splits because of the blocking angles it creates.
The problem with the wide splits though is that very talented interior linemen can take advantage of those super-wide splits and jump the gaps and create havoc in the...
I'm pretty sure the reason that Griffin's redshirt is being burned is not due to the injuries in the NC game so much as it was related to Isaiah Johnson announcing that he was going to take a redshirt.
I think the coaches had been planning to save Griffin's redshirt year, because they thought...
I try not to get too excited about games versus patsies. However, the 2 INT returns for TD's in a single game is something that doesn't happen often, regardless of who you play. So I think it's entirely appropriate to give em a helmet sticker.
I wouldn't expect him to say anything but good things. If he's trying to get further work with ESPN, you will only go so far by being that "cheeky bastard" guy. He's an intelligent guy so I think/hope he'll do a good job.
