I apologize if my comments give off that impression. I'm admittedly not a fan of CPJ's offense and would like to see us make a change, but at no point have I ever thought the man wasn't incredibly competitive. By all accounts, he is one of the most competitive people around.
I sure hope you're right. Personally, I haven't seen proof that is true yet but I sure hope we do continue to open up the passing game more. I think we have to in order to be successful against the bigger DL's like we see against VT, Clemson, UGA, and Miami. All of those teams have employed...
Not trying to be argumentative, but if Justin was so much better at running the base offense than Vad, why wasn't he starting this year? Or at least playing more?
Most of the younger players preferred JT anyway; whereas, the older ones were bigger fans of Vad. From a locker room fragmentation issue, I don't think this is a problem. It's just more of a lack of depth/experience issue now.
You & I will have to just disagree on this one. If he recruited the kid and told him at the time they'd put in more of the run & shoot component of the system, then he lied.
Also, if he knew it was even a remote possibility that Vad might transfer (and he did), then he's just flat out dumb...
Vad told Coach Johnson on New Years eve sometime by around noon because I knew by 1:15. Coach Johnson was ambivalent as he accepted the news and commented to several people that it really didn't matter because Vad didn't fit his system anyway.
Since that point, I found out that they told...
Very happy for Jemea and I think he makes an NFL roster somewhere as a special teams player. I'd be surprised (albeit pleasantly) if he is drafted though.
I don't disagree with you. But it didn't have to be at that point in time. As a matter of fact, putting a fresh QB into the game in that situation (so close to the goal line) brings an awful lot of risk with it as well, IMO.
If he was going to give him a series, do it a series or two later...
Boomer, I've said the same many times and in many posts on different boards. I think the decision on admits for a sport should be left to the head coach in that sport and his/her contract should be reflective of that. Put in a clause that he/she gets to choose which students to admit for their...
I'm fairly sure next year is his make or break year. Here's a link to his contract:

Notice the buyouts listed on page 27:
If fired at the end of:
2013 $7.768 million
2014 $5.25 million
2015 $2.667 million
I don't think GT will...
I don't think anyone sees any of the Maryland exit money for a while. Even if they lose the initial case, Maryland will likely appeal and that could potentially push any type of settlement/payment out for another couple of years.
Vad has been going to Whitfield for tutelage since just after his senior season of HS. I saw an interview with Whitfield where he says he thinks VL has everything it takes to be one of the top 10 QB's in the country. And perhaps he does...but not in this offense, I don't think.
I'm not Eric, but I'm pretty sure Devine would have to be a G in this offense. The T's are expected to get to the 2nd level more often and the "beefier" guys are put at G to go against the DT's.
One of the most worrisome aspects of the way CPJ develops QB's is the way he gets playing time and experience for backups.
Last year, Vad got limited playing time in many games and it certainly hurt us this year when he took over as the starting QB.
This year, Justin got very limited playing...
Is this entirely true? I'm not being critical of your statement; I'm asking a serious question.
I watched those videos of Coach Dodd speaking the other day and one of the things that jumped out at me was Bobby Dodd's statement (he actually said it about 3 times in the speech) that "And I had...
