  1. 2017 Spring Practice

I'm reminded of the end of the year, 2014, where defenders just didn't want to tackle Days.
  2. Is This year ours in the ACC?

Absolutely no doubt that we will miss Thomas. I still think he's the best QB PJ has had at that position. At least we will have an experienced offense to go around whoever starts and one QB with a big road win under his belt. I don't see anyway Matthew Jordan is not the starter vs. Tennessee...
  3. Defensive Change is on the way

Clemson throws it 70 times a game and has slaughtered us the past 2 years. UNC as well. I'm a little bit concerned about matching up with them. UGA under Mark Richt was kind of a pro spread team, they'd go run heavy on early downs but were not afraid to pass out of the shotgun on 3rd and long...
  4. Bowl game offensive breakdown

A little more efficiency in the passing game (i.e. less drops) and this game really could have been out of hand either at the half or in the third quarter. I was surprised to see just how many Zone Dives were called, and the fact that I don't think Mills ever came out of the game.
  5. Deandre Smelter

Plenty of opportunity to show his quality. Just get open and catch what is thrown at you.
  6. Paul Johnson Zings Kirby Smart....and raises a question

I'm just glad it worked and Qua wasn't tackled at the 12.
  7. If you needed further proof that 680 are clowns...

  8. Butker now tied on all time point list

Senior PK Harrison Butker scored four points (all on PAT) to move into a tie atop Georgia Tech's all-time scoring list with 222 career points (Luke Manget - 1999-2002). - http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/m-footbl/recaps/112616aab.html I was hoping the PAT would put him in the lead, but I feel...
  9. Film Room Defensive Breakdown vs. VPISU Drive 1 and 2

How long does a defender wait before "Green Dog", i.e. to make sure the back isn't just chipping and then leaking out to the flat?
  10. Kudos for the game

Have to enjoy the win. It wasn't perfect to be sure, but you take any win over a #14 ranked team. We didn't *have* to throw to win this one. Look back at 2008 UGA and 2009 VT. Both games with very few completed passes, and Matthew Jordan didn't have the luxury of Thomas lining up outside. We...
  11. Miami Postgame

Juene and stewart had single, press coverage all day., and we never went deep once. Either we cant protect, or the wide-outs cant beat 1 on 1. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  12. Tech fans are awful

The Tech fanbase only really shows up when Tech is playing a marquee opponent. This typically means FSU, UGA, or Clemson. Maybe VT and Miami. That's sad because Bobby Dodd can really get rocking when that place is packed out. As far as Upper West, I've had those seats for six years and moved...
  13. Postgame BC

Love reading your analysis. You could tell the wet field and conditions definitely affected the elusiveness. On plays where JT had to escape, he couldn't get away. Where does Boston College grow their defense and where do we get some?
  14. Gameday !

Big time to find a way to win against a very tough defense. Could not establish the dive against that defense, could not get blocks out on the edge. Thomas is still a weapon when we can give him time to throw and Jeune, Searcy, and Stewart made some big time catches. I'm also very optimistic...
  15. BC Predictions

Boston College's defense was fantastic last year. They've had time to prepare against the option and they are a good run defense. I think we will have trouble scoring against them. More than anything else we need to take care of the ball and make sure we limit negative plays. Boston College's...
  16. #GTCamp2016

I disagree. I was expecting a major drop off in 2014, but we had a lot of luck in 2014 with no major injuries on the DL and a lot of 5th year seniors. I think we felt the effect of all that attrition last year as those players would have been upperclassmen.
  17. 4 Games 19 Days?????

I'd like some of that kool-aid. Clemson is a different team now and the only team last year that truly took us to the woodshed. I don't see us beating them if Watson is healthy.
  18. Spring Practice 2016 News & Notes

Was this a depth move or does the staff think he can play there?
  19. Opinion question about the Georgia Tech quarterback situation 2017

I hope this is it. Besides, Byerly had been extremely durable and outside of the first two games Tech had a gauntlet of a schedule. I'm sure PJ didn't see any opportunities to get his #3 in the game.
  20. Opinion question about the Georgia Tech quarterback situation 2017

I remembered reading this quote while going through this topic and found the actual post. PJ was thinking about Taquon Marshall at QB down the road as early as July of last year. http://georgiatech.blog.ajc.com/2015/07/28/tuesday-tech-review-the-mostly-paul-johnson-edition/ At that time...
