  1. Were you aware. . . .

Kills me seeing teams on the 1 yard line go back to a shotgun 7 yards off the ball. Turns a one yard run into an eight.
  2. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Also without naming names, I'll say it was nice to see TD Roof actually wrap up and take the QB to the ground after breaking through during the blitz, instead of just diving and missing.
  3. Big Cry Here....

Be glad the DB barely looked back. If he tracked that ball that was an easy pick.
  4. What two things do these 4 guys have in common?

Qua Searcy has a few things to say about that. He had a big game against BC last year with a clutch 4th down reception. It is crazy though just how many times Lynch was wide open last year with no one around him.
  5. First Offensive Play vs. UT?

I doubt it will be an option play at all. Probably a zone dive.
  6. Is it really true?

With our defense I never expect that 30 is going to be enough to win. I hope I'm very pleasantly surprised. Run the ball. Stop the run. Do those two things and I think we'll have a good night.
  7. QB battle

Miami 2014. I believe they out-gained us in every stat, but we played keep away and had a few timely turnovers. Against a team with superior depth and athletes, a death march keeps their offense off the field.
  8. QB battle

Example would be Anthony Allen at A-back, moving back to B-back after Dwyer went pro.
  9. QB battle

Love Justin Thomas and think he's the best player we had the position. But I had waaaaay too good a view of the back-to-back fumbles returned for touchdowns vs. Miami last year. It *definitely* made a difference in that game.
  10. Bill Connelly's 2017 GT Preview

I want some of whatever you're having to think Clemson is a toss up. They return seven players from their Top 10 defense. They have absolutely man-handled us on defense for the past 2 years. Even in 2014 when we won at Bobby Dodd, we had *two* pick six touchdowns when Watson went out. Best...
  11. Film Room The Summer Push LJ Long Run

Should there have been more tail-motion on this play to get the A-back in position to receive the pitch? He's well behind LJ at the start of the play and can't make up that difference. Or was the A-back just a decoy/blocker and not designed to get the pitch?
  12. WR U

That's basically what Ben Tate said. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000345517/article/ben-tate-if-i-could-do-it-over-again-id-be-a-safety
  13. WR U

Kind of interesting as you also note two of the concerns with each offense. With Tech's, since the running game replaces the short passing game, we don't have a short passing game (slant/flats, screen game, etc) to keep the defense from blitzing. Our offense *expects* to be able to run the ball...
  14. Tickets and parking

Biltmore lot is $5 and not a bad walk to the stadium (you can take 5th St. bridge or the tunnel). They may not let you park there if there is a wedding on that day.
  15. Tennessee fans already starting to talk about the 2017 GT-Tennessee game

I'm sure no one thought Dedrick Mills would be the clear starter after camp last year. But I agree with the consensus, you don't burn a redshirt unless they are at least in the 2 deep with a starting chance the following year.
  16. 2017 Spring Practice

I'm assuming he means bad defenses. Practice time. The spread option already requires a lot of repetition which doesn't leave a lot of time for a complicated passing game. One of my biggest issues with the offense is that the passing game is based on the Run and Shoot, which is another style...
  17. GT Owns and Operates sanford Stadium

In all honesty, can we even call it "hacking" when it involves Wikipedia?
  18. 2017 Spring Practice

Groh. I'll never find a quote at this point as it has been a few years, but Groh was the defensive coach and it was Paul Johnson who insisted that Jemea needed to play. Another example is PJ Davis, whom Groh didn't want to recruit. After he was let go Paul extended him an offer.
  19. 2017 Spring Practice

And to really drive the comparison home, I believe it took direct PJ involvement for Jemea Thomas to see the field, since a certain defensive coach was enamored with the measurables.
  20. Stuffing the Inside Plays...

Ibeeballin did a quick analysis on that. Long story short, we started stuffing those runs.
