Yes, it's the kids being able to change schools that's ruining college football. Not coaches making $15mil a year...
Any college student can change schools at any time, and maintain their credits (as long as they transfer). So it's certainly not an academic reason to chain them to one place...
I posted some links about the air raid in another thread. Texas Tech has a *rich* history with it, and Kittley can follow in the footsteps of some very successful coaches.
Why turn that down to come to GT which has never ran the air raid and whom you can't even bring your own offensive staff?
I mean we're a whole week out from the last football game. *Long* time to go before toe meets leather again.
You'll really know if there's a marked change in the talk in spring. If we hear about how elite we are, nothing has changed. If we start hearing about having to fight for respect and all...
Can discuss that over in recruiting. Don't count those eggs before they hatch.
EDIT: Of course we're discussing transfers here so I'm not sure what the etiquette is.
Do some learning:

The last thing we need to worry about after last year is too much depth in the QB room. With Yates transferring out, the only experienced QB we have on roster is Sims who struggled staying healthy and at times struggled with accuracy. Peery is a redshirt-freshman with no game experience, and we...
For everyone asking for coordinators to come from lower level schools (like Coastal Carolina or Kent St), you guys are aware that D-Pad was coastal Carolina OC for five years and set most every offensive school record at the time?
Success at the lower levels of football doesn't always equal...
I honestly think GT fans are just miserable people sometimes. If we could get behind the team with the same enthusiasm that we use to boo the refs, we might actually have a home field advantage. Combine this with lackadaisical Greek/student turnout and it's a recipe for malaise.
Anecdote: I...
The more that I'm thinking of this, Godsey as OC makes a lot of sense. Was at UCF under O'Leary (half our staff has connections to O'Leary and/or UCF, along with Stansbury. Would likely be willing to take OC without making wholesale changes to staff (Key is here unless he quits, and don't wanna...
Would be 100% excited with Godsey as the hire. Would provide instant credibility to our passing game. He's also served as a tight ends coach and that would help in rebuilding that room.
As far as choosing coaches with a tech connection, that's the point. Tech is very unique in the challenges we...
Probably a decision that was made before this weekend. With Sims hurt this year Yates definitely got his opportunity. Keep in mind not all transfer portal decisions are strictly football related.
Best of luck to Yates. He played with heart.
My wife works in the COVID ICU, so I fully respect that decision. Wore N-95 masks at some of the games myself (due to vulnerable members of the family), which is absolutely brutal in summer heat.
Hope you'll be able to return to in person viewing next year.
Fans selling their tickets to UGA is *not* a recent development. Been watching UGA fans sitting in stinger seats for a few years now.
Attendance at the Pitt game showed everything we needed to know. After an exciting win over an (at the time) Top 25 UNC attendance was sparse at best.
Maybe you...
You could probably do worse. Would imagine Florida would technically be paying his salary. With Choice and Key on the offensive side we could likely manage the recruiting situation.
You fire assistants because you don't have to pay them $12 million to go away. Outside of Key (who is second highest paid), no one is under contract next year. Neither coordinator is proven and neither have coached at the P5 level, so one way to help an unproven HC is to get proven coordinators...
