  1. College Football's General Mediocrity in 2018 and the 2014 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Maybe Joe and not Devine? Lynch was a RS in 2014 but there were some big play ABs who were 5th yr seniors.
  2. Vision for the Future Offense

Something like Elon a few years back: 2 WR wideouts, a slotback (former AB), 2 RBs (former BBs) and a duel threat QB in the shotgun in the backfield. An under center QB (maybe T Oliver) for short yardage and inside the 10. Use of inside and outside double option and lots of misdirection. Use of...
  3. Special Teams improvement in 2018

Late in the season the coverage teams got a real boost from V Alexander and over the course of the season solid efforts IMO from J Johnson, C Campbell, and T Carpenter
  4. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

There are lots of reasons for poor tackling in the secondary but the #1 reason is lack of speed. When Woody gets his faster players the tackling will see some improvement. In the meantime I hope our coaches work on the other reasons for poor tackling, as it is sorely needed.
  5. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

Some sub-par position play was a result of the available talent (LB and inexperienced DB). I was disappointed with the lack of pass rush, tackling, and the pass coverage. Great encouragement from the turnovers, run D, and the aggressive effort. Overall we are slowly trending in the right...
  6. Malik Rivera (positive post)

Malik would have been a real asset to the team, even with avg performance, because of his knowledge/info/communication//leadership/ and experience. But he has in fact led the team in tackles, hustled by example, made plays left and right, and really been a consistent playmaker in every game...
  7. Uga game roll call

This is the third time brother-in-law will be taking me to the GOFH game. He thinks I jinked UGA in 2014 and 2016 and I am making him very uncomfortable. I have to sit among the dawg fans but the last two times were well worth it. Cannot wait for GT to put some real uncomfort on so many.
  8. Tech vs Va postgame

CPJ addressed that in his press conference. He felt Wells could make the kick from where the ball was and he wanted a shot at a touchdown. I thought at the time he would run it to get a little closer and toward the middle of the field. I guess he was not ready to give in to 3 points and maybe...
  9. What will be the first offensive play GT runs against Virginia on Saturday?

At least on the last play of the game, and I do not know how many plays prior to that, Oliver was in the locker room area. He ran out on the field from the NE corner player entrance after the last play to join the celebration without his helmet. What was he doing in the locker room? Why was he...
  10. Upcharge?

For his size QUA has become a really good blocker, driving or cutting. ABs and BBs lately have done a good job blocking.
  11. Brant and Jalen

Last year Jalen backed up Lawerence at Nickle which is the closest thing to Stinger, an OLB on the strong side in coverage against the pass and contain against the run. He also came in on occasions when we had an extra DB in on obvious pass downs. In prior years I think he did practice primarily...
  12. CPJ Radio show

It seems very logical for Mason to play AB next year and then move back to the BB rotation after Benson leaves. He has a head start at practicing AB already and there will be less competition for PT at AB vs BB next year. We will need his blocking as well as his running ability at AB next year...
  13. CPJ Radio show

Our problem with this normally is that the runner alludes the first tackler driving down, runs through the second one for another 3-7 yards, and picks up the first. We need for the first guy to put an AUSTIN on the runner and put him down. A lot of this comes back to tackling issues with the...
  14. Tech v duh U postgame!

I am not sure what the UM players were doing, or trying to do, as they were doing different things. It was where and when that their actions were so inappropriate. No business being in our end zone disrupting our players coming out for the game and all among our cheering and flag squads. There...
  15. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

You are likely right about the ball being dead when JT possessed it, and not being dead when White intercepted it..
  16. Tech v duh U postgame!

I liked the way CPJ answered when asked about the UM player actions before the game. He simply dismissed it as "kids behavior" and avoided any additional controversy. It was in fact an unsportsman like totally out of place display of undisciplined bush league behavior, but I am glad CPJ took...
  17. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

That is because rules are different if punt does not cross LOS vs if it does cross LOS. There is no muff if the ball does not cross the LOS on a punt and it is treated as a fumble.
  18. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

Cannot advance a muffed punt but if possession is obtained (which it was not) you can advance it. JT downed it so there would be no opportunity for him to turn it over since he had obtained possession. Note how White downed the 2014 UGA interception to win the game. He went down so there was no...
