A terrible day turned into a great day

Thanks for the info. It is too late for us, but hopefully it will help out others. I won't hold a grudge against Tech if she doesn't get in - I understand that several thousand of well qualified students applied and there are only a few thousand spots open. I have no doubt she can handle the...

A terrible day turned into a great day

Thanks! I have heard the same thing, but admissions hasn't given us that option. But I may give them another call. I was also told that being a legacy helped get you into school - but I found out that isn't true anymore (if it ever was).

A terrible day turned into a great day

Unfortunately she can't transfer. Although she is a senior in high school, she has been attending college for the last two years taking all of the standard courses for an engineering degree. At the end of this semester she will have taken all of her calculus classes, diff. equations...

A terrible day turned into a great day

I don't think that is an option for her right now. If your enrollment is deferred, you have to wait for admissions to make a decision. It is at that time that summer enrollment is an option (I think).

A terrible day turned into a great day

I am very proud of her! She has been a good daughter. I hope her dreams are fulfilled by getting accepted into Tech. She really wants to try out for the cheerleading squad. That would give me an excuse to attend a whole lot more football games next season!

A terrible day turned into a great day

My daughter just got her official acceptance letter to ugag. I feel sick in the deepest part of my soul. The only saving grace is she doesn't really want to attend classes at the cesspool. She only applied as a fall back if she doesn't get into GT. She wants to be an engineer and her college...

    GT COACHING HISTORY

The original premise was that the four players mentioned didn't account for the 11-3 record. Even if I buy your argument that the 2009 and 2011 offenses are the same, that discounts the two players on defense and their considerable contributions to our record in 08 and 09. If the issue is...

    GT COACHING HISTORY

No, the facts do. The players went, and so did the wins. The coach stayed the same. I am fully aware that correlation and causality are two different things, but in this case it is fairly clear that the players made the difference. The analysis is shallow, but correct.

    GT COACHING HISTORY

I give CPJ credit for coaching the outstanding talent he had. There are many coaches who could have taken the same talent and coached them down to 8 win seasons in 2008 and 2009. But yes, those four players are the difference between 7-6 every year and 11-3. They probably rank somewhere...

Top three GT games you have been to?

1990 Clempson 1990 Ugag 1991 Citrus Bowl Hard to beat those three games. That was just a magical year.

    together we swarm

I agree. If you have the money for $40 tickets, you are going to keep them, not step down and take cheap seats. And we are losing money with our current strategy, so what could it hurt to try something new? Maybe the cheaper tickets bring in a whole new group of fans, and maybe not. But the...

Paul Johnson recruiting Q&A with AJC

This^^^ I don't think either party is lying. Both are simply telling the truth from their point of view. It is unfair for any of us to call BS on either story. My opinion, our coaching staff probably did have a change of heart on how much they really wanted the Taylor kid. But CPJ did the...

Paul Johnson recruiting Q&A with AJC

Experience should tell us that the truth is somewhere between what the Taylor kid is saying and what CPJ is saying. I doubt that either of them is outright lying, but both are telling the story from their point of view.

    Sewak

That is a fair point. I can't think of one major college football team that does that. And there is the old adage that if you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one. But Johnson tends to do things differently than other major football coaches. Maybe this is a strategy that he needs to adopt.

Why we had a 7-6 record

Whether or not Tevin would have been an improvement is certainly a real possibility. I don't necessarily disagree with that premise. But the question I posed is "would it have mattered with our final record"? I still say no.

Why we had a 7-6 record

I don't want to come off as someone who dislikes Tevin. I thought he gave us everything he had. The records you refer to prove that. He is a fine representative for Tech. I have just always maintained his skill set was somewhat limited.

Why we had a 7-6 record

I will agree that if Vad plays the first half and Tevin plays the second half against uga we win that game. But I can't see Tevin winning it on his own for four quarters. The other games we will have to agree to disagree. Tevin had orwin and Robbie plus a healthier oline in 2012 and couldn't...

No, you didn't respond to anything. You took a cheap shot.
