    AJC's A-Back preview

I have to apologize, I mispelled Cottrell's last name earlier in the thread. I fixed it along with the others who followed my bad spelling. I hate when I do that.

Mike Greenberg tears the Georgia Bulldogs a new ***crack

Hi Scrappy, thanks for posting and joining the discussion. You are right, I am for freedom and less regulation. Predictably, I would have no problem if the language on the LOIs changed completely to favor flexibility. What I am pretty steadfast about, however, is the binding nature of contracts...

    AJC's A-Back preview

I like Lynch too and I imagine he is a hard worker, although I really don't know. However, my guess is that he falls down the depth chart a little. He will see game action pretty often, but I think he will get passed by a few guys. That first sentence of my quote pretty much sums up why. Searcy...

    Who's your guy?

I am going to go with Yvon Joseph. I know he was not the most fluid and skilled big man to ever play for the Jackets, but my reasons are many: You have to love his back story, coming to the USA from squalor in Haiti as a soccer goalie. We had some classes together (both M.E.s at TECH at the same...

Mike Greenberg tears the Georgia Bulldogs a new ***crack

I hear you and you make a good point. Such things can be argued for the future. However, when an athlete signs a contract LOI today, it comes with the commitment I mentioned. If you don't like the commitment, don't sign the paper.

    Jamal Golden

It will be interesting to see. While I am rooting for him, I am not so sure. There have been other slow safeties in the league, but usually they carried the hammer. Smart always helps though. Who am I to tell a guy he can't?

Mike Greenberg tears the Georgia Bulldogs a new ***crack

If it is a 4 year scholarship, I have no problem with a coach placing limitations on where a kid can transfer. Heck, I have no problem with a coach refusing to release him from the scholarship. It is a contract for crying out loud. In most cases, a coach will let a kid go. I mean, who wants a...

    Jamal Golden

I have been thinking about this guy for a couple days after reading pro day stuff and passing on punt return duties etc. I want to take a moment and recognize him for the sheer depth of his contributions to our program. Let's just stop and think about how many times he saved our bacon. This list...

    AJC's A-Back preview

Searcy is a pretty elusive dude. Sounds like a good choice with what we know at the moment. My message to the other guys is: if you want to return punts, prove it and beat him out.

    AJC's A-Back preview

The ABs we had playing last year are going to look pretty slow after we get these guys on the field. I appreciate all of their contributions and efforts, but we are going to be substantially faster and HOPEFULLY break more tackles. Plus Lands-Davis and Lynn Griffin will look totally different...

    GT Pro Day Central

Probably the most important strength any athlete can have is core strength and that is hard to measure by these kinds of means. You have to watch people play and move to determine if there is good core strength.

    GT Pro Day Central

When you look at the bench reps vs body weights of those guys who have been in a power conference strength and conditioning program for 5 years, it is pathetic. I am sorry. Speed numbers were bad for an offense like ours too, the whole bit. You are right, the picture got a lot more clear after...

    GT Pro Day Central

If I am not mistaken, he was under 300LBS for us in 2014. Not moving too well at the moment.

    NFL Regional Combine

I remember vividly a KO return by DUKE where their guy broke free causing the announcer to prematurely say "he's gone". Milton ran him down from behind and tackled him around the 25 or 30 after making up about 10 full yards.

    OL

All I have seen is a recent picture and he looked huge. I mean really huge. So much so, that I really question his current weight on the roster.

    NFL Regional Combine

I've been telling you guys for a while he is really fast. We may have had one of the top 5 fastest CB pairs the last couple of years. Now that published numbers are coming out (between this and the combine for DJ), it just reinforces my observations. It should be interesting about his future...

    OL

The OL has a CHANCE to be a good bit better this season. In my mind it all depends on the kind of hunger they are feeling in the off season. If Griffin has indeed added some size and strength and he cleans up mistakes from his first season, if Shamire improves as much this off season as he did...

What if Calvin Johnson became Tech's WR coach?

Having Calvin as a coach, in some fashion, whether GA or otherwise, could have its benefits. Recruiting alone could skyrocket at that position, knowing we have a HOFer on the practice field. I don't know Calvin and I have no idea how good he would be, straight up, as a coach, but, this much I...

GT 2016 Roster and Spring Depth Chart

You will never hear me argue against the value of experience. However, with that said, losing starters, even long term ones, is not always bad. By that strict logic alone, every team would get worse every year unless they were starting all underclassmen. We all know from watching sports for...

GT 2016 Roster and Spring Depth Chart

OT might be Griffin's "natural" position if we were a different offense. If I were to bet, Bryan would dust Griffin in a foot race. That is the biggest reason. Although I haven't seen him person, pictures appear to indicate that Griffin's body has changed over the RS season. He might have added...
