The problem is, I don't know how to judge his resume at Alabama. The year after he left Alabama's OL was ranked 3rd in the country by PFF. The year after that they were 9th and won the NC again. Maybe they hired another incredible OL coach and kept things going or maybe they had enough talent...
Im not sure being an OL coach at Alabama has quite the difficulty level of being the coordinator of a top 20 defense at GT. Key actually stepped up to a coordinator position at UCF. It didn't go well.
O'Leary was the DC for our national championship team and had pretty highly ranked defenses the entire time under Ross. That's not quite the same situation.
I think it's mostly about Key himself. There is a portion of the fan base that loves Key and has been willing to overlook or even defend significant OL issues for the past few years. Whether it's because he is a Tech man, or because he coached under Saban, I don't know, but he generally gets...
I think it's worse but not really because of Collins so much as the changes in college football in general. Coaching salaries have blown up to ridiculous levels in that time frame which we can't compete with. NIL now exists and im not sure we are a big player in that department. Expansion is...
That really just depends on whether you think the rest of this season is a large enough sample size to commit to this staff for 4-5 more years and disregard the fact that they played a large role in the darkest time the program has ever seen.

If Collins was single handedly holding everyone back and the team continues to improve then what sense would it make to shake up the staff? Wouldn’t Keys success be their success as well?
Plus some of us remember the feeling last year after the UNC game. That was a similar game against a ranked team where we played great on defense, had no turnovers, and only 5 penalties. Everything looked and felt different. The emotion made us think we turned a corner. I’ll be a bit more...
