The UGA game is interesting. On one hand, winning that is the one thing I think could get him the job. On the other hand, I think we will already have a coach locked up before that game even happens, even if we don’t announce it.

I’m still not in favor of making Key the permanent coach nor do I think we will actually consider it. That said, the more he wins, the more he builds his resume for other programs to see and the more appealing he makes this job look. Hopefully he keeps the momentum going.

Kudos to the defense. Great performance tonight. Especially Charlie Thomas. He was easily the best player on either team. Offense needs a lot of work, but thankfully they did enough.

We went 8-5 because we went for two against Stanford and pulled it off. If that play goes the other way we are 7-6, the record we bashed Gailey and Johnson for. That team was an ok team. Certainly not near the top 15. Maybe they had top 15 talent on paper, I have no way to verify that...

People are overblowing what Lewis took over. That team was unranked the year before and needed a last second field goal to beat Furman. They also lost to a 3 win South Carolina team. We were a great program in 1990. We weren’t a top 15 program in 1991.

Shedeur will be a junior (Covid sophomore) next year. He may only play one more season.

Any coach that comes here is going to bail after 2-3 years if they are successful. We should welcome that scenario.

How much are we propping those stats up? Ole Miss had 7 sacks against us. They had 6 combined against the mighty teams from Troy, Central Ark, and Tulsa. UCF had 4 sacks against us. They had 5 against their other 3 opponents combined.

Right now for 2022 we are 118th in sacks allowed, 119th in sacks per game, and 124th in TFL allowed. I guess maybe thats an improvement in some stat somewhere.

I will just say that the candidate list feels much better than 2018. Deion, McGee, Chadwell, and even O'Brian are pretty solid choices in my opinion. I have no idea if any of them are truly interested in the job but I can't say I would be all that disappointed with any of them.

Is it too much to ask that we improve a little bit along the way? We seem to be getting worse. Our OL FEI passing stats regressed from 2020 to 2021. 2022 isn't looking any better.

Can’t imagine any reasonable scenario where we bring in a new AD, and a search committee and we eventually decide to go with a guy who was already here and played a big role in our struggles for the past 3+ years. Maybe if he runs the table and beats UGA convincingly.

I don't think there is anything he can realistically do. You don't go scorched earth, fire the head coach early in the season and the AD, and then promote from within. He played a part in us being as bad as we have been. I don't think that is so easily forgotten.

If Deion is remotely possible then we need to do whatever we can to make it happen.
