  1. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

"...force his hand." I kind of doubt it, unless you are talking about window dressing of some sort by pressuring Geoff to fire coaches and such. We will see.
  2. Secondary talent

A Los Angeles Rams secondary player was once asked who was the best player in the Rams secondary. He pointed at Deacon Jones and Merlin Olson two members of the "Fearsome Foursome" that wrecked havoc as defensive linemen. That was a half century ago and remains true today. Pressure on a...
  3. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

They quit on their coach, on their teammates, and on themselves. It happens.
  4. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

    Now that is devilishly clever.
  5. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

Yep. That is it. I don't know that I have ever seen a national broadcast put that kind of exclamation point on a loss but Geoff keeps finding new lows
  6. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

TIC as I was one myself before I met my dear wife. IIWII
  7. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

"They are not a good running team..." but they will be next Saturday. FIFY
  8. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

I think maybe they tried a little harder. Besides as a Presbyterian, I have become wary of those Baptist folks...never know what they might have up their sleeves. TIC
  9. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

That is correct but none of those teams are world beaters yet gave the Irish all they wanted while our team basically quit on its coach.
  10. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

I was just quoting what someone called the photo NBC showed of Geoff on the wreck under the caption "RAMBLING WRECKED" with the putrid winning percentage and record.
  11. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Obviously his sideline attire is trend setting, as are the losses.
  12. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

Notre Dame only beat Virginia Tech, Toledo, and FSU by 3 points? "ridiculous" is the mildest epithet I could come up with for such a performance. Absolutely, inexcusable.
  13. Is this the worst defeat in our history?

No, after all we lost to Clemson in a historic loss 73-7. Under the circumstances with a nationwide audience and a broadcast team openly mocking our program with the infamous gif. then it may be the most embarrassing loss which is not the same thing but then, you would have to factor in the...
  14. #NDvsGT 55 to Zero

Here's a tip. If we had hired Moncken, we would not be in the fix we are in now.
  15. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

That photo of Geoff on the wreck shown by NBC?
  16. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

After today, it was the coaches...and the players...and the schedule...and the cafeteria workers...and the janitors...did I leave anyone out?
  17. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Agree to disagree. At least with the triple option, we had an identity. After three years of the "me too" offense, I would much rather have throw more resources into recruiting nationally for players to fit our offense. Given what we know now, personally I would have preferred to have...
  18. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

No offense taken but today is the first time I believe that this team has quit on Geoff. Put a fork in him. He is just about done as a coach. I think the program has collapsed to the point that it is beyond repair. IIWII
  19. Hypothetical poll: how long would it take Saban to win a championship here?

I don't think even Saban could win a national championship here with the current environment of paying 5 stars. The college football landscape has changed significantly in just the past five years.
