In limited action, our young QBs appear to be much better athletes with better arms. Would like to see them get more action.

I don’t buy the argument that they have less of a grasp of the offense. We are currently running what essentially amounts to BB dives, QB keepers, or rocket tosses. When is the last time we gained consistent yards on true triple option pitches? I’ve seen Marshall fail to pitch on open pitch reads a substantial amount of times.

Our passing game is not good. Easy throws are being missed. Medium difficulty passes are being underthrown.

At this point, would love to see what Johnson or Jones look like in ACC action.

Marshall is by no means an inferior athlete to pretty much anyone on the team. Very talented runner. Passing on the other hand... I think Lucas could be a lottt better.

Come on dude.... lol the last thing you want to do is run in some freshman to get destroyed with the way our o-line is blocking. TaQuon isn’t doing bad. He had 143 yards rushing. You can blame the pitch all you want but the pitch wasn’t there. They played sound D and took away the pitch. They just outplayed Tech. That doesn’t call for a QB switch.

2 problems... 1) we have some major OL issues this year, we are not executing blocks near as well as we have in recent years... and 2) we have 3 losses in the rain, and each of those games could have gone very very differently if it was dry (just no way of knowing). It's harder to throw in the rain, make sound cuts and run clean routes, etc.

Also, and this is not an excuse, but we have 2 losses that were 1 play away from wins and another that was a 4-point road loss in the rain. It's the nature of football that we only look at the W-L record, and 4-4 sucks considering we could easily be 7-1.

Marshall had one long rush where he wasn’t touched and didn’t have to make anyone miss. Subtract that from his total and he rushed 28 times for an average of 2.3 ypc. That’s ignoring his obvious passing struggles and failure to make defenders commit on pitch reads.

TM? He is getting his brains beat out. He seems, quite often, to be our best running threat. He is being asked to throw what few passes we do throw by dropping back from under center, and the way our OL genius coach teaches our OL how not to block is sacked ( I would venture a guess) a higher % of the time than any P5 QB.

Besides, our HC, if he does do the things to institute a more sensible passing game, will be invalidating his quest to lead the NCAA in rushing.

We have problems with O, with D, with ST. They are all very, very far down the list of problems as a program.

Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows what fans we have need to give more money.

Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that virtually every other coach in P5 choosing NOT to run this O, and knowing the ensuing problems it causes for our D (notice our great pass rush? Me neither. When our D scrimmages vs our best O they never learn how to rush the passer), is not stupid.

We are, with very, very few flashes of brilliance, a very good HS or good FCS team.

Only thing that matters on the football field is beating ugag. You build a program capable of doing that 50% of the time then the majority pansy ACC will take care of itself.

We were embarrassed today by a nobody in college football.

Almost all of what you said has nothing to do with the thread topic, and much of it is incorrect.

With the way our offense is structured, Marshal is our best bet. One of the freshmen would be better, but it would require a retooling of the system that we aren't going to make. Getting a better passer isn't worth anything until we improve the protection,, routes, and fundamentals that we teach our QBs.

It's also ignoring the fact with no blocking and no time to pass anyone could do better.
