It's a shame that we have lost any semblance of home field advantage over the last 10-15 (?) years. Damn, we need to beat one of these toss-up type opponents at home. I don't care about margin of victory here, just take care of business

We put up some stats about their rushing game—and not only does BC’s QB rush for more yards than anyone else for BC, he also rushes for more than anyone on our team, too. The guy is a matchup nightmare.

So, let’s look at receiving. I sorted by total yards, so that we wouldn’t focus too much on the occasional receiver who makes a lot of catches.

Lewis Bond is BC’s main receiving threat. His stats are about the same as Singleton for us. BC throws for about 204 yards per game, where we throw for about 275. Bond has the biggest share of the yards, and as many TD’s as the rest of the team put together.
The #2 receiver, Ryan O’Keefe, had a neck injury against UVA. He just returned to campus on Sunday.

Here’s an EPA view, from Game on Paper. Bond is their main receiver. If you take away the run game, or cut it way down, expect them to look for Bond first.
Jaden Williams is also a wide receiver. None of their guys is tall. BC fans seem to think that they’re not the kind of guys to win contested balls, and outjump the other team. I don’t want to count on that.
The catch rate looks nuts, but ours isn’t all that different.
They also haven’t done that much with their tight ends, and are looking to change that against us. That would mainly be George Takacs, who has six receptions totaling 38 yards.

Less than that, I remember the 2018 UVA and Miami games having a pretty good turnout/crowd participation.

Our crowd against Louisville was pretty good. Crowd against Duke last season reminded me of the old days. I went to the Colorado/Stanford game and their crowd in the lower bowl stands the entire game, students and non-students. They were really engaged, focused, and loud and it helped out. I've been to games in a lot of different stadiums now and Bobby Dodd can be as loud as any of them (except Miami; that place is deafening thanks to their roof canopy; the defense knows it helps too and asks for help from the crowd all game - we had tons of crucial false starts in that game).

I think having a strong defensive performance is really badly needed. The defense and crowd really played off each other in that Duke game when we were rolling the first 3.5 quarters. People started standing and cheering in the lower bowl when the defense took the field rather than waiting for 3rd downs or not at all because they were putting on such a great show for us of sacks and QB pressures from the first drive. I've heard in interviews that Key has directed the kickoff team to run through the end zone and get the students involved before the defense takes the field - I wish they would direct it at the sidelines as well.

When they had momentum, they were steamrolling but the team/crowd came out of halftime lax like they had the game in hand and 2 explosive plays in a row started turning the tide. They came to life in the 4th and overtime again but couldn't overcome some strange Coach Prime decisions I guess.

Maybe they were too physical as we had nothing left--the 4th qtr again did us in.
