Right, I know about all of that. But is that it? Or is there more? Is this just, "hey, we need more money, so let's raise $500 million, give it to us?" Or are they trying to get people to donate FOR something, i.e. naming something, a scholarship, a building, a gate, a row of seats, etc. If it's just "hey, we need money, so help us get to $500 million," great. But I am just shocked that there isn't more to it. (Maybe I shouldn't be shocked since it IS Georgia Tech.....) But what is the reason to donate a large amount ($25,000, $50,000, $100,000, etc.) other than to get points, which don't really do much anymore. Surprised there isn't some sort of push to fund scholarships or "buy your seat" and have your name put on it or something. Seems like poor marketing and a missed opportunity. Of course, I could be wrong.

The points do - do things. If you want a parking spot in Peters, you need at least 600-900 points for lower/upper. When they finally send out tickets to the bowl game, people with more points will have better seats.

On top of that, I think many people donate just to help GT Athletics regardless of points or recognition.

Doesn't the campaign end on December 31st? If so, I doubt they reach their target if $500M.

There are only X amount of dollars that are going to be contributed to the Football program (renovations of BDS are a part of that). The campaign funding and NIL may be mutually exclusive but we don't have to have this campaign.

At this point if I'm an AD and someone calls me wanting to donate money to the Athletics department specifically for football, I am giving them the number of our NIL collectives. I'm also letting it be known to everyone that any contributions need to go to the NIL collectives.

You have to do both. You cannot stop people from contributing to the scholarship fund, nor do you want to. Besides, there are many who are willing to contribute to a scholarship fund but will never give a dime to a NIL collective. Telling your donars to only give to NIL is a sure fire way to kill the donations necessary to run the athletic department.

My understanding is Season Ticket Holders are in the lows 20s. Pump that up 10K and you collect another 3-5MM. Get it up 20K and you are close to 7-10MM. Is that realistic, maybe not. But I think the reason for the proposed enhancements to Bobby Dodd is to get a significant larger season ticket base.

Those things are on the website. Maybe they should be easier to find. As to not including them with the Full-Steam-Ahead initiative, I can understand that. If you market one idea, you can gain traction. If you market highlighting capital investments, with maybe naming rights, with maybe scholarship endowments, with maybe this, with maybe that, it gets too complicated. People tune out. Someone like you who might be interested in an endowment or naming rights would continue to look for those kinds of things. Those are bigger ticket items than a $2k donation to help with capital investments.

Short take, it is difficult to get people excited with a full list of everything they could possibly donate for. A short message about donating for a $500 million capital fund can fit in a Twitter message, and is short enough that a large number of people will read it.

Yeah, I guess you're right. All I could find online was "email or call us for opportunities." Well, I wanted to know something up front without having to call someone. Just some basics, how much for this or that or whatever. Oh well.
