Actually, we "borrowed" "Up With the White and Gold" from Cal after the 01/01/1929 Rose Bowl. "The Old Farm" is a reference to Stanford's campus. Also, the reference to UGA and colors and mascot change each week to reflect our current opponent.
It would appear that over the years, during orientation, the new students and/or the leaders have paid less and less attention to details. Also, the lyrics to "Go Georgia Tech!" has zero reference to any beer. About 30 years ago, the NCAA, during "March Madness", took umbrage with our band playing a beer jingle and the response was "Go Georgia Tech!". "When you say, 'Buzz is wiser ... you've said it all!' "
