What we really need is at least one nose tackle, preferably two. With Biggers and Gore being out of eligibility, that only leaves Lockett at that position, and given how physical and contact-heavy the position is, we will want to be able to rotate players to prevent injury.
Thought van de burg had another year if he wanted it, no?

I wonder if we’re redshirting Lockett on purpose. I worry he transfers if that’s not the case. I guess you can’t miss him if you don’t use him.

WR, RB, DL, Center and Guard seems to be priority . we need a Punter too
Why do we need running back? It is a deep room with more talent coming in the next class. Offensive line? Don't we have 6 or 7 OL guys coming in the signing class? Including 4* and 5* guys that should be able to play right out the gate? IMO, DL and WR should be the priority, but the other positions?

OL should rarely play as a true freshman. That being said, we may have some that will be upgrades to what we currently have, but it's hard to get on the field as a true freshman unless there is dire need.

I doubt we look hard at too many OL in the portal. Harrison will be next year's center and Ethan McKenney or Ben Galloway will take over for Williams. Then Jameson Riggs, Brandon Best, and Alo-Tupuola are also there to fill spots. Rutledge, Fussile, and Robinson will all be seniors next year. Tough to get ahead of a senior with all those snaps. He have all those freshmen coming in and growing up.

That may be, but we have had great success with freshmen on the OL in recent years. If they are better than what we currently have, ya gotta play them regardless of what year in the program.

Our OL is better today than when those freshmen played. Go ask Key if he'd prefer to have Williams for another year instead of him playing on a 3-9 team as a freshman. He would be RSing if he came in next year.

I think we need a big back complement. A 5'11" - 6'0" 225-235 kinda back

We only play 1 RB at a time, but we do have a pretty small RB room. Trey is done, JH and Daylon Gordon will be seniors, Alexander will be a junior, and Carrie and Maddox are true freshmen this year. We have a couple small backs coming in, but no one with any heft.

Cooley, Haynes, Alexander, and Maddox were all hurt this year and were either not available or very limited in what they could do. I'm not sure Gordon saw the field yet. That's why we did a lot of running with Singleton and Rutherford in some of the games.

Carrie is 6ft 200. I’m hopeful with a year in a college weight system he can bulk up to 215 or so and play that sort of role.

That 3-9 needed Williams as the rest of the OL was not very good. You play the best players regardless of their year in school. Sure Key would like him more next year. Of course Key liked him better as a freshmen that any other option as Right Tackle!
