Sorry. He's not the guy. One of his players at dayton was caught with a prostitute the night before the NIT championship game. gregory then later hired him here as a grad assistant.

Well I'd honestly rather have him than Petino etc.....Id prefer a Cremins 2.0 type. Is it too much to ask for a great recruiter and XsOs guy WITH good integrity too? I think not and I would not like to see us turn a blind eye to bad ethics just because a guy can win.

Said we are indeed using a search firm, Glenn Sugiyama. Hypothesized that they're only being used as a means for contacting clients (deniability buffer) and possibly to conduct background checks, etc.

Just an interesting note and sorta explains why 'news' on our search all of a sudden came available. If I'm MBob, I fire their a**es. Dang, I gave you 2 names yesterday and an hour later it's all over the net?

@UgaBlows Price came out said he's happy at Charlotte.

That limited use of search firm was announced by mbob last week.

How little news we've heard really makes it seem like a) we aren't as far along in the process as I had hoped, as far as talking to a coach/ having a short list and having interviews, or b) the coach we want or are in talks with, is still coaching...

I will say that it's pretty difficult to have an agreement in principal with a coach (of another team) while your team still has a coach and for it not to get out. That's 2 levels of connectedness that would assuredly leak.

What seems more likely to me is Bobinski's natural and constant conversation with people in the basketball community that lead him to select 5-6 finalists, initial "heads-up" conversations with their agents, and eventually a formal interview process post-firing.

So far everything seems fine and on-schedule to me.

There are 2 months before teams officially lose players to the draft, so there is still time to get a coach and still get a transfer or two.

But only 2 weeks until the first live period of the travel season & we need feet on the street stalking these 2017 in-state kids.

Pretty sure going from Dixon to Stallings is worse than going from gregory to Capel. In fact I would say one is a downgrade while the other is an upgrade.
