Mauk's fumble overturned because the refs have hated Richt ever since he called all the players on to the field against the Gators.

Sure the gt graduate program should work with the state funded ( not sure what% is state, private, fed) research dept. What research are we doing in the undergraduate business and engineering at ga tech? Our undergratuate program is not research.

But to protect their "all other" they now have added engineering for the in state students that can't qualify for gt. We can't broaden course of study ( hard and technical ) to include some sort of courses that would lead to coaching. We should have course of study in sports management named for gt coaches and AD where national excellence awards are presented in their name (H-man, Dodd, broyles, Rice)
Sure it would be a tough technical bunch of courses - much like our engineering is tougher than the uga courses. Can you imagine how much this could change our athletic program? The uga members of bor do and they say that's the way it goes.

I say it's time to poke uga in the eye! No national champs for u - a small research institute is going to whip you in football inspire of having to play with one hand tied behind its back. These guys remind me of how things were in the old south - afraid of change and competition.

You are dead on target, my friend! This should be MAJOR news! There are 19 members of the Georgia Board of Regents, who are all handpicked and appointed by the Governor of Georgia. Of those 19 members, 14 are from each of Georgia's 14 Congressional Districts and the other 5 are at large positions. Our last Governor, Sonny Perdue, was a graduate of UGA and he played football for UGA. Our current Governor is Nathan Deal, who is a graduate of Mercer but recently gave a commencement address at UGA. Of the 19 Regents on the Board of Regents, 9 are UGA graduates and the Chairman is - Surprise! Surprise! - also a UGA graduate. Only 3 Regents can claim Georgia Tech as their alma mater. That's how UGA only 2 years ago was approved to start offering Engineering majors while Georgia Tech was stuck with nothing but Engineering, Business, and Architecture majors to insure that from now until we ever have a Governor from Georgia Tech, Tech will never be able to match UGA in recruiting and # of students...
