Would love to be there since we live in Huntsville. Got family obligations in Florida unfortunately. Was hoping for the pop tart bowl so I could make it, we got a good location for fans in the southeast, but we got stuck with a low quality opponent, not because they are a bad team but for perception.Hope you go with us to Birmingham.
It has been that way for a long, long time. I don't know why, other than money, Vanderbilt continues to prostitute itself and suffer abuse like this from the SEC. Come to think of it, kind of reminds me of how Tech is treated by the ACC. Downtrodden football programs unite! You only have your chains to lose. With apologies to Marx and Engels for stealing their quote from The Communist Manifesto. This will be a test for Sanduchi and the defense. Vandy's offense dropped a good bit down the stretch against South Carolina, LSU and Tennessee. That is a fairly tough stretch of games. They also played Texas and Alabama in Conference Games. Seems the SEC wanted Vandy to suck and get easy wins for their "good" teams.
This was by design so that both teams can blame the other for a poor fan turnout.I'm sure Vandy ain't crazy about playing us.
Is there any info about tickets yet and which side will be the Tech side?
"It Just Means...Less?"Guys! Snap out of it! This is another chance to beat an SECheat team! We need to be there loud and proud!
Don’t sweat it, bro. Just go, if you can, and have a great time! I’d give anything to go but I’m in line for my second hip replacement in as many years. The Birmingham Bowl would be a dream for me."It Just Means...Less?"
We don't want Army, trust me.Yes, Army!
Some comments from Vandy fans. Haynes King has a pretty good reputation.I'm sure Vandy ain't crazy about playing us.
There's literally nothing to lose. No one will remember this game outside of the two fanbases 5 minutes after the game ends.Vandy is a worst case scenario. Decent team, bad reputation, nothing to gain, lots to lose.
Mods, if we have a separate "other bowl games" thread, feel free to move this there,
But, Duke will absolutely be destroyed by Ole Miss. I can't believe the best these bowls can do is provide completely lopsided games like this. And, Duke will probably have 2000 fans at the game, if they are lucky.
Eh, I think "lol they lost to Vandy" combined with "they went 7-6 last year, basically a .500 team" would have significant negative impact on preseason rankings. I wouldn't expect that team to be ranked. I would expect a team that went 8-5 and finished with a win over Oklahoma to be ranked preseason. There's literally nothing to lose. No one will remember this game outside of the two fanbases 5 minutes after the game ends.
Vandy lost 6 games:Between Vandy, OK, and Arky, I was hoping for one of the 2 not named Vandy. Their offense is like PJ's, but on steroids with that QB. Our D is going to have their work cut out for them.
