Vandy has had some good wins this season.

It’s like the nerd schools being forced to sit at the kids table.

Agree that we got the short end of the stick (shocker), but taking the glass half full approach:

1. OU has a much bigger fanbase than Vandy but not convinced they’d fly to Birmingham 2 days after Christmas to watch their 6-6 team play. Nashville OTOH is an easy 2.5 hour drive, and Vandy is in their first bowl since 2018, so maybe turnout will be decent

2. Piggybacking on point 1, Vanderbilt is in the position we were last year where we were just super excited to make a bowl regardless of which one. Hopefully that excitement means minimal opt-outs and both teams bring their best

They have 7 guys in the portal, including a 3 year starter at tackle. Not sure how big of a loss the others are

Great for both fan bases. Straight, short shot all interstate from Nashville and Atlanta. Should be a good crowd and a good matchup. I would have preferred Oklahoma, but I get why the game was put together and it makes sense. Hope the team is fired up to win it.

You are correct. Some of you guys are acting like we're too good for this game. Take a hard look at our home attendance this year. No good bowl is going to take a chance on the Tech fanbase buying tickets as we stand today. I'm going to Birmingham.
