Have not read everything, just got home...

Replays at the stadium were weak sauce. Thankfully I had some folks text me. The refs did make some legit calls like on holding and on the face mask but we never saw them in the stadium.

Hmmm, I wonder why the ESPN announcers and their officials analyst all felt both the punt call and the next PI were lousy calls. Again, you’re wrong, imho.
Have you ever known ESPN announcers to be mistaken? Punt call was borderline in my estimation, but hardly a travesty of justice. Could have been worse, could have been a block in the back.
Lots of calls are iffy, but if you constantly see it only one way, your perception might be biased. Not saying that's you, but I see a lot of it on the board here. Calls go both ways, and refs aren't any more infallible than the rest of us.

Yeah the replay in the stadium only showed the facemask the Vandy player got away with amd not Burrell's facemask earlier in the route. When I watch the replay from the broadcast, they only showed Burrell's facemask and not Vandy's. I felt slightly better about that one after watching even if it shouldn't ended up offsetting. Likely wouldn't made a difference in how that drive ended up.

Now watching the replay of the kick interference and the phantom pass interference... Those were absolutely horrible calls.

I’ll wade through these comments in my leisure, as I feel like it, but I did not watch the whole game due to social obligations. When I turned the game on Tech was slightly behind but gaining momentum. Vandy was forced to punt and interfered with the receiver. Bizarrely it was not called and Tech was forced to play out of their own end zone. It looked like a game changing blunder by the refs so I turned off the game after that. There are some bad calls (witness the uga game) that you just don’t recover from unless you’re playing a very bad team.

Still optimistic about the future. And surely our run of bad refereeing will eventually end.
So it was you…
It wasn’t great, but we were fine… then you had to go and turn on the TV and cause the game defining blunder / no call that set off the whole miserable chain of events.

Lots of things were bad today. I'm not gonna rehash what happened because we pretty much all saw it. This game just wasn't meant to be. It be like that sometimes.

Id like to bring attention to something nobody really likes to talk about. A glaring issue that has been a problem since BK's first game coaching...

Brent Key has awful game clock management. Awful in game coaching decisions. Y'all, it's bad. And it's cost us multiple opportunities in multiple games at this point. I love the guy but time and time again I've seen us waste precious minutes of clock just lollygagging around. Then bad decisions leading us to burn timeouts unnecessarily. We declined a holding penalty after the lightning delay? AM I MISTAKEN?! WE DECLINED A HOLDING PENALTY WHILE TRYING TO MOUNT A COMEBACK?!

cmon man. This has to be improved for him. It's pretty much my only bone to pick with Brent Key. I love his energy and passion and love for Tech. But damn dude. This stuff has to improve if we want to give ourselves a shot at bigger goals.

Now starts the long off-season. Go Jackets

I cant explain it, he just is bad with the clock. Seems like someone would tell him to hurry the **** up or call a damn timeout.

I am still a little wet and soggy but this is what I saw:

The refs kicked our butt and we responded poorly. Vandy kicked our butt with better play. We kicked our own butt with really bad defensive back play (Lee excepted) and too many turnovers and penalties. The bad weather hurt our chances for a come back. Either hurt or for some other reason King is still primarily throwing horizonally and teams have caught on, and it is much less successful without Singleton. We did not have the best QB or receivers on the field. Disappointed with the whole lack of performance, including the coaching.

Better players are coming and I believe our coaching overall is good and should be learning to get better.

I misjudged our portal takes. We do need more DBs.

Stupid game in a stupid city vs a stupid team... No wonder the ending up being stupid... Ready for 2025 😁
Yep. This. I watched but not intently. Once we had the face mask and they didn’t call the off setting offensive PI and the blatant kick catch interference our players and staff saw the writing on the wall. This game was decided by the officials.

Key has said time and time again that he values downs over yards. 3rd and 10 or 2nd and 20 he'll take the 3rd and 10. Get one stop and off the field vs 2 more. Its a coaching philosophy similar to fouling with the lead at the end of a basketball game and making the other team shoot freethrows vs 3s.
Should not be surprised at this if you've been following the team since he took over.

Not in this game. All the iffy calls went towards Vandy.

Ups and downs of college football. But Vandy was stoked, as I knew they would be. I think the Jackets played hard.
They were the better team this game. We had no answer for their QB and they did a good job defending ours. Jamal was great for us and played like he was on a mission. We still can't run up the middle. Sorry the seniors that opted to play didn't go out with a win.

He was trying to save clock rather than give them an extra down. However he squandered about 30 seconds on a running play without calling a timeout. Philo may have been a better option when we were down 2 scores. Bad loss but time to move on.
