He hates being talked over. CJP trolls him so hard by never letting him get his questions in lol
Lol really? I’ll have to watch some interviews then. I really steer clear from his interviews cause I cannot stand him. It’s his face. The cheesy broadcaster perma-smile. And his voice and interviewing skills that make me angry inside lol

Some but it kind of depends perception. If you deem Dingle and Jordan Dominick as a rush LB then yes. A lot of 4-2-5 with Kaleb Oliver as the big nickel

I think this is the best way to maximize the potential of our secondary. @Ibeeballin , do you think that unit will be the strength of the D? There just seems to be so many big, rangy, tweener athletes back there that I'm hoping to see unleashed!

Without question. Those guys are huge!!! I like KO closer to the LOS anyway. Thomas, Carpenter, Campbell look good at Safety. So have the CBs. It will be vital that Chimedza, Glanton, Griffin become a force inside to help the DEs

A friend of mine worked as an official at GT's scrimmage this past Saturday.

He was impressed with the "feel" of things, how the offense and defense moved around (basically looked like they were picking up schemes and not looking lost), and that the coaching staff was communicating well with the players.

He said we looked strong running the ball (lot of zone read), but that (in his opinion), our QBs were "terrible." Now, he simply meant the passing game. Said they struggled throwing accurate balls into windows. Most of us believe passing will improve with time, of course, but I believe (as he did) that we will need to rely on our already stout run game and take advantage of the running ability of our current QBs until our guys improve in the passing game or we bring in guys who can simply do it better.

IIRC, you've been calling for KO to play closer to the line since last years film reviews. If we can get the DL shored up I think the pieces are in place for a shut down D.

If we have a shut down D next year with all of our question marks in the front seven..,..quickly extend a bonus/extension/big buyout on CGC’s contract.

I think D could improve. Become a shutdown D in year one?....highly doubt it.

It's very hard to have a great defense if your offense is playing fast pace all the time. You would need some very good backup players ( depth )

Our Safeties and Corners have a LOT of talent. BJS at LB as well. As I said, the DL needs an overhaul, but if they can fix that, then the pieces are indeed in place. Pieces being in place are not always indicative of success, though...

Not sure about overhaul bc they were recruited for 4man line but man Adams untimely death hurt us. Need the DTs to play big and a pass rusher to step up. Guys like walk-on Curtis Ryan is intriguing with his size and length. Sylvain looks the part and is strong, when i saw him he was still trying to put this whole football thing together ( ex: when he rushed he used good hands, but was too high giving Defoors his chest to steer him. Next play, he rushed lower but had his head and just got pushed up field)

I've hinted at this, but what I'd like to see us play is a Wildcat shotgun. Here's what I mean:

#16, Jesse Ertz, is what I hope to see from our QBs this year. I love that guy! A great runner and his ability that way made everything else in the offense work. I might add that their RBs look like a collection of former BBs; i.e. like Tech will be. Oh, and the D is pretty good too.

We might have to wait a year or two for this, but the material at QB is there and, if we use it right, we can go aways with it. And, of course, it remains to be seen if Coach is as good at his job as Bill Snyder was. Let's hope so.

Btw, sorry for the length of the film. Couldn't find anything else that got the gist of what they were doing.

I read Jaquan Henderson is a DE now and was awarded a ride on the Choas Cruzer?
So do the DE’s have their hands in the dirt rushing or is are they standing more like a rush OLB??

Both. We run odd man and even fronts. Base is 4. Hand will be in dirt but may have rush specialists on money downs

Best player I ever saw at this at Tech was......Marco Coleman. Solid DE, solid OLB--whatever the situation called for. Size and athleticism helps--a lot.

Marco was a great one. So was Pat Swilling and Greg Gathers. We have had some good QB headhunters. We really need another of that caliber.
