We aided in the beating.-
Fair catch on the 5!!!, free run at fg block are hard to overcome.

They had a little lucky bounce on batted ball staying in the endzone and the fg recovers being a score. They still might have scored, but those 2 errors of ommision l were killers. 14 points.

Just for grins what if those bone head plays had gone our way, but thier qb bonehead end zone trip and flip pass was a pick 6 for tech.
Have we had a pick this year?

Is the "shark" gesturing jinxing us? Think we do it a little too often, even when the DBs didn't make a big play.
JMO, cut back or flat out stop it, except on the sideline, until the defensive back field gets better. Reference the numbers for the Louisville and Syracuse stats if needed.

SI article below certainly should give us hope as far as the Quarterback situation goes. Haynes King is ranked 3rd in the ACC and 13th in the nation according to Pro Football Focus (9th in passing).

According to the article, Haynes is performing at an All-ACC level and closing in on some GT records. He has four 300-yard games, third behind Joe Hamilton (7) and George Godsey (6). He is GT's number 10 quarterback for total offense at 5069 yards of offense after only 18 games. Hopefully, the rest of the team will follow his lead and get GT to a Bowl.

Our best year of the last 15 years was 2014.
But in the first half of that year we had barely beaten 2 out of conference crummy teams and had lost to duke and UNC, who were both mediocre.
Things were grim - but in that time CPJ adjusted the ol scheme and personnel.
Gone was the dive blocking and in with the power blocking with a massive offensive line, and the rest was history.

Last year King was learning the offense.
This year the WR are way better but still learning the offense.
Faulkner is adding stuff like TE down the middle which was almost never tired while Leonard was here - 5 years.

We have some really talented freshman and Blackburn. They are getting on the field in quality time.
IMO, buster will add some plays where they are the called play at WR.

But unless we do something in the ol we are not going to No 2024 is not going to faintly resemble be 2014.
Sure, part of the adjustment lies in less JUST UTM with a converted wr as rb and MORE vertical wr/te , Roll out qb, plus called qb scramble / runs.
This will be added in the next 2 games and one of the young rb will emerge as a kind of Dontae.

Can we improve the called pass play PASS BLOCKING?
The DL talent for teams we have faced so far are not very good compared to what is ahead.
Perhaps we are missing some wide open long gainers if King hd a 5 - 7 second clen pocket with out a TE back to block.
King seems able to scramble - perhaps we need to take a risk and not have a TE or small rb back to block.

I think the ol guards are setting up too close to the LOS when they give help the center. After initial rush they need to be aware of other issues. NO, i am not advocating for them to set up way back when the center has a war daddy in front of him.

I still believe in Key and what he is building here, we all knew this was going to be a tough row-to-hoe, don’t lose hope.
Anyone going after Key to be fired really are showing the ignorance to the mess Collins left. Look at UNC, only took Collins 6 months and 3 games to make Brown hate his decision to bring in Collins.

Collins will be in G5 coordinator positioning the future if lucky

I agree completely. But is anyone going after Key to be fired? I haven't seen that.

I’m a little confused by the thread.

Our offense is a little ahead of where it was last year. Last season, the offensive line started to gel in the last few games. It had issues before then. Receiver and tight end play is ahead of last year—especially tight end play.

Defense is flipped from last year. We brought on an entirely new defensive staff, and we didn’t have Santucci until after some key players portaled out. Pass defense is a concern

Our odds of making a bowl are better than they were six months ago. We have things to fix, but Key has shown that he’s a coach who fixes problems.

Line needs work. Key is working on the line. Geep seems to be a good coach.
