Saban pulls his starting QB in the title game and inserts a freshman, because Saban needs a better passing game, if he hopes to win. Saban wins NC. Johnson sticks with his usual "run, run, run, with occasional incomplete pass" game plan to a disappointing, losing season. Dare we hope that Coach Johnson learned something last night?

I did not know that. In all fairness, he was expecting help from the safety who seemed very casual about getting over to help his corner. I know he took the head fake from the quarterback but you should not leave your corner all alone like that. Seemed like a rather strange turn of events. Freshman to Freshman. Somehow it seems appropriate.
He was expecting safety help for sure. But by that time he had been beaten so badly he was worthless. And Smith didn't have that good a move, either. But what really struck me was that with a NC on the line, Saban proved again why he wins: he is not afraid to make harsh decisions under fire. He yanked his QB at halftime, put in a freshman, and started throwing. Clemson, facing similar difficulties a week earlier, stuck with its starter rather than go with a freshman, and of course Johnson stays with his starters almost as a doctrine. That was on the one hand a "had to" decision, and on the other, created the possibility of a Georgia blowout if it didn't work. Have to hand it to Saban.

Credit to Saban. Two years ago - onside kick, this year - changes QB's. Not afraid to make big moves. The system is certainly impressive, but not afraid to shake things up if necessary.

Let me know when we have a second string QB that can complete over 30% of their passes.

Congratulations to the true National Champions...
...that won the big game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
...that beat a tough SEC opponent in the big game
...whose young, dynamic, Hawaiian quarterback led them to victory
...who finished undefeated (wait, what??)

Congratulations to UCF! You guys deserve it!

Three things happened with BAMA's winning TD pass that we may never see at Tech :
1) A 2nd string QB replaced the starter to spark the offense.
2) On an obvious passing situation , the QB dropped back, set his feet and had time to go through his reads.
3) The QB looked off his primary target to draw the safety the wrong way and threw a dart to a wide open WR.

At gt we run the damn ball!
But when we pass , we don't pass we just throw it! "Lol and cry"

Maybe in 18 we will hit receivers when we throw (thats called passing).
