For the younger guys, an 18 year old can be dominant against 15-18 year olds in high school, but likely many will not have near the same success against college kids who average 21+ years of age with 3 + years in college baseball under there belts. I agree with the comment above about the set up strategy being crucial for success. Obviously easier said than done but it makes sense. Also if you followed any of our guys in high school you will notice the pitch selection that made them successful is not the same selection they are being asked to throw in college. Learning new pitches takes time. Again, maybe this is great for college/MLB development, but unfortunately we don’t have a minor league system in college to take those beatings.
