Do the summer offensive workouts work on snaps, meshes, audibles, noise, timing, footwork, choreography? These types of things seem way more important than 7-on-7 drills. With 4 qb's, each guy has to develop chemistry with the rest of the O, particularly the Abacks and pitch relationship. Poor pitch relationship/chemistry leads to balls on the ground. This is partly why we struggle early in seasons.

Keep in mind, these worries assume a full working command of the playbook which is not gonna be the case.

You are right. The summer workouts help individuals improve their conditioning and fundamental techniques but it takes the whole team under coaching leadership to fine tune the snaps, meshes, audibles, noise, timing, footwork, pitch relationship, and choreography (as you say). This typically takes about 7 weeks of really hard work (4 weeks in camp and 3+/- real games). This is one big reason that MJ has a big advantage in the QB battle.

One elite aerospace company that builds complex aircraft has one of its mottos that says "we do not build airplanes here, rather we operate a complex aircraft building machine". CPJ is tasked with building a complex football playing machine that requires lots of parts, including conditioning training and summer workouts. But the major effort to put together this football machine starts with Fall Camp. I believe it is this great challenge that motivates CPJ to put him ahead of most of his piers. Can't wait for the season to start!

snaps, mesh footwoork and timing is big and it is worked on with qb and bb in offseasons 100% sure it is. WR checks and options off routes as well as timing of routes. Noise...no...We don't audible, we only check our plays that have built in checks...but those checks are discussed based on fronts. There is still film room study FYI.

We struggle early in season because game speed, even if you know the look, is harder to get used to fast....this O for sure, settles in mid year and when it clicks its like watching a well performed dance. IMO, most of our early season struggles are less about knowing who to go to (of course there is always some of that anywhere) but doing what you need to do at full speed when the opponent is trying to destroy you; and make those reads that quick plus executing...

edit to say. This is why QB leadership on this team is so key. He can arrange these workouts with the BB and WR and C to gel. JeT did this. Nesbitt did too....
