Postseason Chances?

I think we need to keep an eye on Marquette. They need to go 0-2 against @Xavier and home vs Creighton this week

I disagree actually. I think we can get both teams out. Xavier are reaaaaally struggling with sumner out. Lost 5 straight possibly 6 with a loss tonight. They're not a tournament team without him and they are going to be evaluated by the committee without him. Marquette can lose to Creighton after this game. I'm rooting for Marquette tonight.

Don't be greedy. Not sure a loss knocks X out and if Blueitt can get healthy they still have the horses to go deep in the BET. TC doesn't evaluate based on last 10 any more. Yes I realize that's like telling the jury to forget the guy on trial once said "IM GOING TO ******* KILL YOU"

Yeah I know they don't factor in last 10 but they do factor in injuries and it really doesn't look good for X without sumner

Things the kids can impact.... beat Syracuse.... win at least one game in ACCT (hopefully 2).

Things they have no control over... everything else

if they take care of the former, they are in the conversation. If they don't, they're not. I get a headache trying to figure all the scenarios that could possibly help/hurt our chances. I'm going to focus on Syracuse and then ACCT.

That RPI gives me every reason to think Wake would get in ahead of us if they win 1 more game even if we beat Cuse.

And they probably should. We have better wins, but they're more consistent. They have a pretty good team. I love our team but I'm not sure that we are good enough to deserve to be in the tournament unless we win at Syracuse and then win 2 in the ACCT.

Sorry but making this comment after they upset Louisville is a little BS. They haven't done anything to show they are more consistent than us other than scheduling a beat down against Villanova.

Bottom line, we're still a feel good story, but we have no one to blame but ourselves if we don't make the dance. We don't blow easy layups and make free throws at VT...then we take care business at home against NC State...this is a totally different discussion now. We're sitting at 19-11, 10-7 in the ACC and we would be in the top half of the ACC standings. Heck, IMO, we should be 20-10 and 11-6 in the ACC because that ND game was extremely winnable. Our ticket to the Dance should have been sealed Saturday. Instead, we're 17-13 and 8-9 in the league and squarely in the bottom half of ACC standings. Whatever we're doing the last 2 minutes of games, we need to be doing the entire game.

We have 4 nice wins, but our overall resume is just off borderline...and on the wrong side of that borderline. I think it's going to take winning at 'Cuse and 2 wins now in the ACCT to make it back on the right side of the bubble. Anything less than that and we're going to need a LOT of help with other bubble teams falling off a cliff.

OK, I haven't been following this close as to whether we are in or not. But with our #91 rpi this late in the season, there is little opportunity for rpi improvement.

It seems that we have to beat Syracuse and win at least and tournament game? Both are unlikely given our away record this year.

Or lose to Syracuse and get to the ACC championship game (again unlikely since it's not at home and we don't have depth).

Is there another way to get to the NCAAs now?

(As a disclosure, I think we are better off going deep in the NIT than out soon in the NCAAs, but that is a personal preference.)

GT has to win Saturday and then win at least once and preferably twice to have a shot.

FWIW, with Wake winning last night that guarantees GT will either be 9th (with a win) or 11th (with a loss) seed in the ACC Tourney. GT cannot get the 10 seed.

Whatever man. You can keep wearing those gold colored glasses if you want. They've been more consistent ALL year. That Villanova loss is probably their worst loss. They've lost a lot of close games to decent teams in the ACC. So have we, but they didn't lose to teams like UGA, Tenn, Penn state, and Ohio. They've been better from start to finish. And yeah that win against Louisville counts. They also beat us. Could we beat them at home? Yeah probably, but they've been more consistent weather we like it or not.
