That was exciting! Pyron sure seems special, I can see why he won so many high school championships - the right combination of passing ability, decision making, running ability, and what a fighter! Blood running down his face and he's not giving up. Hard to ask for more in a QB, I really hope we get to see him explode here the next few years.

The defense played another really solid game. 4 takeaways, and every one of them was critical. Could have had two more if our guys didn't take each other out trying to make the play. CT1 all over the place as usual, the almost targeting call was a HIT. CP Lee has done well for a true freshman, excited for him going forward.

Shanahan deserves credit for punting pretty well, particularly when we were so backed up in the endzone. Coverage downfield was atrocious, but he did his job.

Gavin Stewart's name has not been said enough, he has been absolutely killing it and has been key to every win under CBK. It is a huge improvement to have such a reliable kicker to make sure we put points on the board.
Last paragraph is all about Brent key making the right decision

That's what he can do when he gets decent blocking, like he did today, and doesn't have to hurry his kicks.

As I mentioned before only got to see the 4th qt, but Pyron has a good feel for where things are on the field and instinctively what's around him. He has that winners mentality and what I saw in his HS film is he is a play maker.
Listening to Bobby Ross talk about Shawn Jones and why they recruited him to play QB and he said he was a play maker and that was the quality he looked for in a QB. I could not agree more. Think maybe you're born with some of that if not all of it.
We've got to add some good players to what we already have and this could be a good FB team next year, yes I understand VT is not very good, but I don't think it takes too many good additions to make this a descent team winning team. Isn't that what we brought Kenyatta here to do for us? Let's hope he gets it done.

Not a Key for HC guy, but this is correct. I think the previous disaster chose the “cool” guy he got to transfer over the more nerdy walk-on. I think his decisions were based on crap like that at times.

As much as I don’t think Key is the correct person for the job, I greatly appreciate his service as a player and now IHC for GT.

I have absolutely 0 idea who is the right person for GTFB HC job. It will be the end result that counts for who ever it is, that's all I know. I do know he needs to be a great recruiter, a disciplinarian, high character person.

We gave up a punt return touchdown and a pick six and still got the first fourth win of the season since 2018 with our backup true freshman quarterback and an interim head coach? That's something.

I'm not going to nitpick about how we won. We won even with the deck stacked against us. Coaches and players deserve a lot of props.

While I don't think I can say "we turned it around" just yet, I hope getting over the three win psychological hurdle will help the team with the three games we have left.

Go Jackets!

Looking pretty bleak for Tennessee at the moment. Honestly not looking forward to the game against the mutts anymore. We're just not in their league

Nor is anyone else outside of perhaps 1 or 2 other teams (at most). They have made Tennessee look like a mid-tier ACC team. Like Spurrier at UF, Smart has taken a historically good program to the levels they probably should have been before. As many of us knew, that program was a sleeping giant for the greater part of our lives barring the years that they had Herschel Walker.

Exactly, we're likely better off with a GA State or GA southern matchup at this point. Even if our new Ad turns things around, we're a long ways off from being competitive with the mutts. Feels like we're in the normal league and they are in the pros with just a handful of other schools

No. Absolutely not. The idea in sports, at least in my naive opinion, is to strive to beat the best. Not to win against lesser opponents and take the path of least resistance.

I'm not sold on Pyron as the long term answer (throwing motion is too long and release point too low), but damn we needed the toughness and competitive fire.

Chip Long: your TEs suck, stop calling plays that require them to be competent.

That first 2 pt conversion was there, I cannot believe how incompetent our TEs are with the ball in their hands.

We can run the ball if we fire out and block downhill.... proven again... play calls need to take that into account and we need to be a run first team.
I dint think you watch the same Pyron as the rest of us. Or arent consodering his 2 collegiate starts. Idk, but he is the guy, very good.

He reminds me of the UVA QB with the weird throwing motion. Given that comparison and the Tebow comparison earlier ITT, it's not the end of the world, but those passes to the sidelines seem to hang in the air for a long time to only come away with a short completion and his arm angle will lead to more tipped passes at the line.
