marcodes is interesting to me. There is something about him and his style in the right scheme that makes me think he has a shot at a roster, even tough I largely think he wasn't that great here (NFL great)....we will see

Milton will make the roster. I feel about 90% sure of that. He brings a lot of value to a team. Even if he doesn't win a starting spot at CB, he will be a standout in coverage units on special teams and he has been a really good kick blocker over his career. He will have a FULL TIME job now, enabling him to work on ball skills etc and shore up his weaknesses. Personally, I feel he covered well against everybody. He just got beat for the ball (when he was in good position) more often than he should have.

Probably my biggest memory of him was watching him run straight at me down the sideline after the pick for a six against Clemson in 2014. He was FLYING and outran the defense. It was a huge play that helped secure an amazing improbable win.

Interesting to me too. Will he end up another Gary Guyton type player? Marcordes runs well and appears to have a good head on his shoulders. He could stick. We can't underestimate the impact of taking the academic peice off the shoulders of our kids, enabling them to work at football undistracted.

I've always felt Marcordes was under utilized.

Groh recruited him to be an OLB in a 34 defense, but to me he was always a DE. He was a bit lost in space, and a little too stiff to cover better TEs and RBs from the OLB position. More of a passing rushing specialist at DE spot than a 3 down DE, he could have grown into a 3 down DE once he put on the weight.

Roof put him in to get after the QB the last year and a half and his production really took off from the previous 2+ years. He's got really good speed from the edge, and a great frame to add weight. He's got a big hill to climb to stick with a team given he's a FA, but guys who have speed at the edge are a premium in the NFL.
