Never came close to saying anything about "dread." To the opposite, this class seems extra impressive such that the coaches are excited. So I hear. As in even better than usual. It was way more a commentary on the quality of the players than on the coaches' state of mind.

Can someone post a picture of what Vic Alexander looks like compared to the others. I bet he put fear in everyone when he first walked into the room!

Vic is actually one of the smaller members of our class (he's around 5'10 200 lbs)...not physically impressive for a P5 LB. Of course, he plays like he's a 6'3 240 lb freak, which is all that matters.

From a picture stand point though he looks huge. I'm going off of the picture Eric had as his avatar

He's definitely well built for someone that's only 5'10 tall. Comparatively speaking though for a LB on a P5 team, he's not that physically intimidating. Like I said...it doesn't matter...his tape is probably more impressive than LBs twice his size.

I hear what you're saying. We'll have far bigger players. But, he was listed at more like 220-223 lbs. going into Sr. year.

Haven't heard yet what he weighed in at yesterday. (I did hear one or two other players' check-in weights. Pleasant surprises.)

But, I'm going to guess that Vic looked impressive on his frame. If he plays at practice like he did in high school, when they go "live" the guys will know who he is. And, they'll want to know where he is on every play. For perspective, it's likely he's checking in somewhere near 15-20 lbs. heavier than P.J. Davis did as a true fr.--and Vic's about an inch taller.

I hope CPJ plays a lot more younger guys this season. The more experience the better they will be. Play them now and two years from , we could have squad full of those 2009 players.

To me it kind of helps explain his HS film (in which he is essentially a jump ball specialist possession type WR). Most good rebounders in basketball have thickness/strength to compliment their vertical.

Will be interesting to see if he can help us on special teams this year. Wonder if his power base is similarly developed to his upper body.

Agree that Marshall is a terrific looking RB prospect. I wonder how his hands are and how he does as a receiver. I think he'll end up blocking just fine.

If anyone of the newbies can get into the two deep, then great.

But to play them and burn a year of eligibility just for the sake of experience makes no sense to me.
