I've seen them a couple of times. He uses a shotgun occasionally, and a shotgun with motion occasionally, but stays mostly in Johnson's traditional set. Thing is, with his different formations, Monken still runs the ball, or did when I watched. His motion was Clemson-like: nothing happened with the motion man but it had to be respected. Like Johnson he thinks the only thing that should be in the air is rain. And while I know I am biased, I don't think a coach in the country has done a better job at their place than Monken has done at Army.I haven't watched Army in a while. What has Monken done to tweak things? Looks like he's passed far less - 7.7 attempts per game, v. CPJ's 9.5 this year.
