Need to figure out how to get some more runs.
....... Ohio State 2-1 with the 7-3 loss to St Joseph's. Beat Pitt and Indiana State. So, like us, they have struggled.

I guess we found our groove. Got the results @FredJacket predicted the first weekend. Maybe we are a good weather team.

OSU was all types of abused, but they didn't make some plays and we took advantage. We are no longer struggling and they are far worse off than that.

From people who saw the game, was The Baron really good defensively? WREK announcer made it seem that way. Especially the inning ending diving catch.

Just remember what CPJ said, it's never as good as it seems and never as bad as it seems. But Damn this was a good weekend.

Update: frickin great day with uGag losing to Santa Clara.

Well... it's baseball. Definitely never as bad or as good as it seems. EVER.

Focus on midweek v Gardner-Webb. Then... well we'll get to THAT soon enough.

Baron's diving catch was great. Nice jump & route & finish. Seems Baron is under a microscope by us (me included). He is going to be an asset & critical to season success. He's showing great patience at the plate. Ramsey has all of them really "accepting" a strike (or 2) early in count if it isn't the pitch the batter wants. Going to pay huge dividends (just like last year).

6-1 at this point is great!! Keeping winning the battle in front of you.

Agreed on liking our approach at the plate, similar to last year. It'll be interesting to see if we start getting more first pitch strikes because of the scouting report and if we adjust to ambush those if it happens.

First inning took 20 pitches from their starter. Baron got nothing to hit but a 3-0 fastball. They clearly want to keep the ball on guldberg's hands, and avoided baron
Jenkins (hurt now)

Pitchers...
Dalton Smith
Brody Westbrooks
Guldberg and Baron really bring out the "pitch this guy different"; it's great to have Jenkins, Compton and Reid behind them with R/L mix.

Same for the bullpen depth.

Outside of Hancock uga looks very beatable. Should have lost that series really. The Saturday game went into extras and SC had it essentially won with a 3 run homer in Estrada’s that their OF somehow pulled back onto the field for a double to hold them to 1 run. Then their 3B airmailed a routine grounder to let uga tie it up before they won it a few innings later.
