There are pros to playing in the Benz. Even as someone who hates the idea, I see that.

But this isn’t a good comparison. Please let me know when the games Bama plays in the Benz was a conference game where the other team was contractually obligated to play in Tuscaloosa, but Bama decided to move game out of their home stadium instead.

I would have absolutely loved this whole thing if we could have found a way to play a few games at the Benz against big name opponents without having to give away actual home games, which is what Bama does.

When did ND become a conference gm?

TStan mentioned that he hoped to have 7 home games during this 5-year contract, 6 at BDS and 1 at MBS. If this means we are essentially trading our Away games at G5 schools (UCF, USF, Tulane) for a Home game at MBS, that sounds like a good trade-off to me.

Stansbury said that the athletic department will work to secure seven home games in all five seasons – with one being at the Benz.

I like you , you did good that was from yesterday but I did say it , just not in the one today that I was telling why Alabama plays so many games at MBS. I sure after time it won't bother me so much but I'm old and it takes awhile for me to go along with change. For those who like the idea I'm happy for them, but I just did not enjoy the Tenn game we played at MBS and I'm sure that doesn't help when I think about going back again , maybe it will be better and it won't take me 2.5 hours after the game to get home when at BDS I can get home in 40 minutes.

Even though I am in favor of the plan, Bradley's article does hit upon my one concern and that is whether our product on the field is going to be ready for prime time. The pressure is on the coaching staff to coach these guys up and find some instant contributors in next year's class.

In Andy D interview Tstan said WE GET TO MARKET WITH THE MBS AND ANOTHER (?) FAN DATABASE. I like this alot.

How much should we pay the Alumni Association to have access to thier database?

And no kidding we need to play well while on mbs. Cant be slaughtered like the last 4 uga and clem games. Now we have to be good.

I fear that the GTAA would do that if the money was in their opinions right

If we ever get to the point of selling 40,000 season tickets at GF vs. selling 60,000 (to GT fans) season tickets at MBS - what do you think we should do?

I think games should be played on campus for the great part.

In the above scenario, I would hope we would tear down GF and build our own new stadium. Hopefully this time GT engineers could do it symmetrically.

Yeah, building a new Grant Field-Bobby Dodd Stadium has to be in the plans for the future. If it were up to me i would make the new stadium big enough for 60,000-70,000 people to attend.

So, ND agreed to play consecutive GT games in ATL because this is good for GT?

Contrary to those who just look at the map and measure the difference in miles, Home field advantage includes dominating the noise in the stadium. In the past, we've not agreed to give that up to give other schools a Home and Neutral deal.

With that being said, we're living in the era of bilateral meetings with NK. New ideas may work. We'll see.

If I understand you correctly, n.d. is Not playing “consecutive GT games inATL” Between our 2 games here we are playing one game there.

I just don't get this "we're losing a home game" argument. We're still the home team and we get the vast majority of the tickets for the games, we're just playing two miles down the road. If MBS is a neutral site for these games then that's a GT fan base problem...

I understand why people prefer Bobby Dodd for all home games since it is steeped in tradition and is our stadium. I don't understand the opposition to trying some new things to add excitement and money to the program though.

Anyone at the UVA game a few months ago would understand that same old same old isn't working. MBS may or may not help, but it's a 5 game deal and worth trying.

Why would we build it that large? We can't fill the 55,000 seats that we have right now. We've had maybe a dozen sellout games since the stadium was expanded. (!2 through the FSU game in 2015. Can't remember if we had any sellout games since, and whenever we do sell out a game, a LARGE portion of the crowd is from the visiting fan base.

Maybe in the future Georgia Tech could fill that size stadium if the initiatives being taken now come to fruition and the Georgia Tech brand becomes more popular in the Metro-Atlanta area
