I saw Glanton and Branch playing only DE last night, did anyone notice them in at NT?

You were at Alan Branch's wedding? Desmond was not playing football last night (pre-approved with CPJ).

I don't think either are a nose. Desmond I believe wanted to play DE anyways. It sounds like the 3 deep is Henderson, Adams, Martin (not sure on the order of the last 2)

That’s kind of my point. In a few weeks of practice with very limited live football we lost all those starters. Those guys that were out there may be the ones that end up playing...

Maybe it’s a scenario where they could have played if it were a real game...but either way, guys get dinged up and can’t play, so the group we saw yesterday will end up on the field in some capacity...not very reassuring.

Every single year Johnson holds out established starters who have might be slightly dinged, or he just doesn’t want to get them hurt. Zero reason to worry.

The box score of a spring game is perhaps not the best place to go hunting for truth. That being said, linebacker Brant Mitchell finished the game with five tackles for loss, contributing to eight total for the Blue-team (first-string) defense. He had 1.5 tackles for loss in the 2017 season.

As I suspected, putting Mitchell in a defense that requires him to cover less ground is going to help him a LOT. I don't care if it is just a spring game, 5 tackles for loss is a BIG number. Mitchell is a good player in the right scheme. CNW's scheme is it.

He did, had 1 fumble but also a TD. He was back on punt return as well. Coach Johnson seems to really like him and said it’s kinda been bad for Mason because he has been injured and hasn’t gotten as many reps as he has needed.

That’s exactly why I am worried. Cooper in a cast, question mark on Marshall...just worrisome given how the guys out there looked.

Dolphus seemed to be wearing the cleets we used against Notre Dame. He seemed to be stumbling a lot in the grass or maybe it was indecision on his part as to where to go or maybe a clumsy effort to get to those passes low and behind him? He was just not "smooth" at all for whatever reason.

If he was wearing the cleats, then that's on the equipment manager, and they sure as hell need to get that fixed. I doubt that was the case last night, but IMO we showed all last year that we don't necessarily always have the best equipment on the field, and they definitely need to do something about that.

What really stunk up was the very poor execution of the screen passes. Timing seemed off and all the throws were either very too high or very too low. Those were on the QBs and not the OL. Searcy hurt himself jumping for one that looked 15 feet high.

So basically security sucked? Oh, so nothing has changed since they went away from the nice friendly old gate staff they used to have. Poor customer service. Poor planning. No ability to think on their feet. Welcome to Georgia Tech!!

Concessions weren’t any better. Took forever even though only one person in front of me. I asked about $1 discount (thinking in was for STH only) and was met with a blank stare, turns out everything at generic stand was $1 off for everyone but this was never communicated to the people “working”. They literally threw out the “we’re a nonprofit” excuse.

CPJ said he would be fine with streaming it IF...ESPN decided to carry it. ESPN declined....so go rail at ESPN.

He further went on to say that, if not carried by TV...there were more benefits than drawbacks to not streaming it. Hurts out of state alumni yes, but gets more butts in seats which benefits program.

There may be benefits but the fact is that the "big-time " schools are on TV and we BY our ACTIONS and LACK OF SHOWING put ourselves in the lower-level /small -time program category.So we wonder why we can't recruit.Even guys we that might have interest and try to relate are shutout as kids and sure are not connected by high school.Even in Ga who was our highest rated recruit in last 3 yrs?--#30?

You’re ignoring the fact that CPJ literally said “if ESPN wants to carry it then sure that can help with recruiting...”

Most of them seemed fine on the sideline. Probably kept them out to be safe and would play in a real game.

They are fine except for cooper. Will bryan played with nick . Was at rg, rt, and lt. He loves to play. He is really quick near the line , but struggles down field like all the 300# guys w braces. The key is marshall and cooper injury recovery.
We have a lot of guys that can only play guard.

I wonder if the ol miss guy did well and can he play this fall?

There is some good big body backup OL material to work with: Hansen, DeFoor, Quinney, Minihan, Tufele, Clark. And some players with some experience such as B Morgan, S Morgan, Ivenmeyer, and Stickler. And I would not rule out Lagod and Gibbs. We need to coach them up and find the ones that can make the grade. Our OL depth is not a body count issue.

I did see Kenny wipe out twice on his scooter. Clearly he hasn’t mastered the use of it yet - hopefully he doesn’t have to use it long enough to need to!

I saw that once. He needs to be more careful, or he could end up in worse shape.
