How did we deserve to win today? We got gifted 7 and proceeded to do absolutely nothing on offense the entire second half.

We aren't "2 plays away" we're 2 dozen plays that weren't made when we just needed to make one. One first down, one stop, one knockdown, one sack, on any of the dozens of opportunities at the end of both losses could have put the games away.

I don't blame the players. A lot of it is just bad luck. A lot of it is bad coaching, especially on D.

Does anyone know why we stuck with Quaide after Benson was out? Not knocking him, I just didn’t feel like he was having much success. Haven’t looked at the stats so I could be way wrong but seemed like we could have benefited from Jerry Howard.

My guess would be memories of Matthew Jordan coming in as an inexperienced player and fumbling the ball 27 times in similar conditions down in Miami.

Bottomline... we are not a Great Team... Solid yea... But with this schedule and the injuries we may end up being 6-6... Our Defense still has the same issue we had against Tenn.... Pitt & UNC are just that bad...

I like the fight in our team, we are just not a great team...

Still can't get a stop on D when it matters. It's happened like twice in ten years. Very frustrating. Much improved, but you can't let that happen. The tipped pass was BS, but we basically let them have 50 yards without even contesting them. They ran that same swing pass to the same dude three or four times in a row...coaches AND players need to wake the hell up.

Offense in the second half was way too conservative. I don't even know what else to say...it looked like we were ok going three and out without even trying something different.

Twice this year now we've found a way to lose a game we shouldn't. This time without turnovers. It's got to stop if I plan on living into my 80s...

Many people stated that. And they were correct. We aren't good enough to beat a crippled Miami team. (They aren't very good either). We were gifted a touchdown, and then scored 3 points in the second half. We will win a lot of games with the triple option, but there are teams we will never beat with it unless we have a better defense. Big, fast athletic defenses can stop us. Then we lose. Two losses by one point. But we have at least three more waiting for us. 6-5, next year is just around the corner.

Looking at the stat line, I know what we're going to hear..."the defense let us down"...which is just not true. Our offense just wet the bed in the second half. we haven't put together a complete game on offense yet (except for Tennessee).

Hard fought loss. Credit to Miami. Need to prove we can beat good teams.

Plays were there to be made. Bad bounce on the 4th down go route sealed the deal.

Hopefully our best RB, LB, and K are back next week. Already without one of our best OL the rest of the way.

A team that cannot catch a pass for first down over the middle in the fourth quarter and does not defend a fourth down pass when everyone knew which receiver was going to be the target does not deserve to win. I might add that there was no adjustment to the bubble screen that they ran over and over. We gave a game away that we could have won. The differences in athletic ability and speed was pretty apparent. Which is why recruiting is so important on defense.
