Today is my 2nd favorite day of the count down. 19 days left, 1 day for each time in our history we have beaten the Puke Blue Divas.

So I watched a bit of the game. Had to be one of the weaker early 2000s Kentucky teams and they still had 2 long-term NBA players in Bogans & Prince and plenty of high level recruits (I think Jason Parker, Marvin Stone, & Marquis Estill).

Our starters were Akins, Jones, Babul, Lewis, & Fein. Hotel Hewitt hadn't been built yet, but bench was Brooksy, Lane, Clarence, & TJ Vines.

A lot of those players acquitted themselves very well, while at GT, but ironically, I feel like we've got more pure talent on this team today and let's be honest, definitely better coaching. You could see brief glimpses in to the future of the CTO in that game. I LOL'd when we called for 5 seconds.

At the end of the day, id rather have basketball players than talented athletes personally. I laughed at no time outs with 24 seconds left.

Talk about a collection of big guy talent in those three for UK though. Stone (RIP) was a HUUUGE recruit that came in with Bogans, yet never quite panned out and finished at Louisville. I always disliked Saul Smith.

And when the announcer said "great execution" i rolled my eyes a bit. That was a broken play that Akins and Fein made happen.

I will continue this starting tomorrow. I had it mapped out up until day 19. Got sick. Lost some days, works crazy. Etc.

BTW 18 would have been 18 wins over the Dawgs all time.

Step up your game Peac. You can call in sick at work but not on the Swarm. Rub some dirt on it and get it together.

Nah, I'm kidding. We appreciate these walks down memory lane. Can't wait to see what you put together for day 12. Suggestion: Kenny's shot vs. MichSt.

As a team last year GT averaged 66ppg.

When Oliver was a senior, He, D3 and Kenny averaged 69.6 ppg just the three of them. Amazing.

They also didn't play a lick of defense though............

Here's about a 7min highlight titled, "Kenny Anderson Destroys Bobby Hurley"

I'm a junkie so I watched the whole thing (plus what Peac posted), but just check out the one at about the 5:30 mark.

Can we clone KA?

Although responsible for some great moments in during that run and in GT hoops history, I'm not sure our fans, even now, fully appreciate how tough & fearless Will Bynum was for us.

I remember wat hing Bynum at Arizona, rep as a big scorer out of Chicago, i didnt see it.

One great memory i have of Bynum was when a buddy of mine (big time UNC fan) and i were talking and he says, " you overrate Bynum hes not that good"..... Will lit up UNC that night for about 27 points and to this day whenever we see him on tv or SC we share a chuckle.

He is the reason I'm a GT fan. I Played PG in high school and D2 and wore #12 because of Kenny!
