For a while, until they adjust, which UGAg has the personnel to do.
One of our issues, IMPO, is our WRs don’t get good separation vs. man coverage so our QBs have to throw into small windows. That makes it tough for a guy like King with a gimpy arm. They can just dare him to do so. However, our WRs do much better against a zone, finding seams pretty well.
All this means if selling out to shutting down our run requires man coverage on the back end, we cannot easily break it. If it means zone coverage, we can have more success since a zone typically takes extra personnel to run, limiting personnel committed to stopping the run.
So, if UGAg has DBs who can be successful in man coverage, it will be tough sledding. I believe they do.
