You’ve always been steadfast in your belief that politics don’t play a role in college athletic playing time. Which leads me to believe you’ve never been close to a college football program. Just ASK the people inside the program. They know more than you. Of all things, this I am sure of.
Look up Bailey Stockton’s relationship to the Faulkner family and tell me again why Christian Leary lost his job and transferred out.
He lost his job because Chase Lane/Bailey Stockton beat him out. All you have to do is look at Bailey's performance in the Spring Game and the rare opportunity he's gotten into the games. Christian Leary wasn't getting much burn except for kick-off returns and he was returning kicks up until he didn't travel for the Louisville game. Regardless of Faulkner's relationships, Key isn't going to let favoritism get between him and winning.
Yes, there are politics in any organization (and some favoritism), but there's no way Philo will play over Pyron if Pyron is going to give GT the best chance to win. Key won't allow that, Weinke won't allow that, and Faulkner won't do that. These are my opinions, but I firmly believe I'm right. Philo ( or Knowles) may beat Pyron out, but it will be done on the field, not in the conference room.
