You’ve always been steadfast in your belief that politics don’t play a role in college athletic playing time. Which leads me to believe you’ve never been close to a college football program. Just ASK the people inside the program. They know more than you. Of all things, this I am sure of.

Look up Bailey Stockton’s relationship to the Faulkner family and tell me again why Christian Leary lost his job and transferred out.
Stockton has looked pretty good to me when he has been targeted. Looks like he deserves whatever playing time he is getting.

Direct quote from the announcers: “I don’t know why they even consider passing the ball.” This was with King in the game, in the third quarter. We were running all over them, and I imagine we would’ve run the ball if King was in the game as well. We were up 10, trying to burn the clock.
Yeah and that “keep running until quite a bit after the D figures it out” is nothing that should shock us this year regardless of QB.

Philo is going to be great. He broke all of the long-haired Clemson/Jacksonville Jags QB's state of Georgia all-time High School passing records. I would be bringing him along at an accelerated rate.

Go Jackets!
State records at single A don’t necessarily translate. There might be a reason he was a 3star. The vandagriff qb at Kentucky was similar and from the same school and he isn’t a top notch college qb. You might even say he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. He is a helluva competitor, just not a great passer.

I have full confidence in Pyron. Biggest thing is making sure he has a full week of practice. Our offense has so much misdirection and motion, timing is critical. That's why Pyron was on a leash.
THIS!!! I think we have a good situation. We’ve got Haynes King who is an absolute warrior and will do just about anything to win. And we’ve got Zach who seems to have that similar quality in that he wants to get out there and help this team win no matter what that is. I am confident that if Zach needs to play due to King being injured that he will be ready and can lead us to wins.

He lost his job because Chase Lane/Bailey Stockton beat him out. All you have to do is look at Bailey's performance in the Spring Game and the rare opportunity he's gotten into the games. Christian Leary wasn't getting much burn except for kick-off returns and he was returning kicks up until he didn't travel for the Louisville game. Regardless of Faulkner's relationships, Key isn't going to let favoritism get between him and winning.

Yes, there are politics in any organization (and some favoritism), but there's no way Philo will play over Pyron if Pyron is going to give GT the best chance to win. Key won't allow that, Weinke won't allow that, and Faulkner won't do that. These are my opinions, but I firmly believe I'm right. Philo ( or Knowles) may beat Pyron out, but it will be done on the field, not in the conference room.

He was hit after handing it off the haynes for the td
Rewatch our very first series. King got hit after failing to connect on two off-target throws and left the field favoring his right arm. The announcers commented on it. He continued playing but his accuracy was not up to par. You can speculate as to whether or not he already had a nagging injury coming into the game.

He was definitely off but it was after that last TD he went into the tent

He was walking around on the sideline after the injury and not apparently in much, if any, pain, and no binding on the wound. Doesn’t look serious to me, but sometimes those things are.

Because of this and because he came directly out of the tent after several minutes with no helmet, my friends at the game believe he failed the concussion protocols in the tent.

King appeared to have an injury to his throwing hand last week against Dook that looked to affect his grip. He went off after a series early today with his throwing arm drooping. I thought, “Oh no, separated shoulder.” But he didn’t seem to be in much pain. Separated shoulders are excruciating. He continued to play for another 1.5 quarters but his arm was obviously not right.

I’m hoping for a bruised shoulder, and not a deep bruise. We play ND and VPI the next two weeks before another bye.
At the time I thought it looked more like a stinger than something as serious as a separated shoulder. If you separate your shoulder you don't continue playing...a dislocation maybe....but not a separation. That being said I took Key's comment in the presser to mean they will wait for an MRI result before commenting on an injury status.

I think Kings shoulder has been hurt for weeks. It may be inflamation,. His throws have been off for the last few games. Let's hope there's no serious damage.
King has been banged up for a little while. He got dinged up on a play early in this game, but was okay to play until he wasn't. He gutted it out but clearly wasn't on point with his throws. We'll see how he does over the next few days.

My gut tells me King will go next week, but I agree with others here that Pyron will be ready if called upon. He doesn't have the speed that King does and that may change some of the play calling, but I don't think it's as big of a drop off from King to Pyron as some people think.

I don’t even think you could with a dislocation. I’ve had that happen a couple of times and it’s extremely painful and leaves the joint and limb weak.

Coming out of the tent without the helmet simply means he knew he wasn't going back in the game. It doesn't necessarily mean he had a concussion. I watched the whole game and never once saw him take a hit on the head.

I don't disagree. My point was that he would have a greater chance of returning to the game if it was a dislocation because it can be popped back in. A separation is a torn shoulder and you aren't coming back from that.
