Maybe it's my hatred for all things dwag clouding my judgement but I don't have much use for guys that chose to go there after we heavily recruited them and then decide to come crawling back to Tech once they get to the cesspool and get screwed. Particularly Green who was an a-back in high school and new damn well what he was doing when he opted to not play in our offense and try and be a tailback in Athens. Maybe I would feel a little different had we not even recruited the guy. Douglas can especially go to hell since he went as far as to commit to us. I wouldn't take Douglas even as a walk on if he left Athens. As for Green he can pound sand. We don't need their leftovers. I'm more excited about all these freshmen a-backs we have coming in. By the time Green is eligible some of these incoming freshmen will have hopefully contributed and established themselves leaving Green way down the depth chart. This may have sounded like sour grapes but it's what makes this such a bitter rivalry. To Hell with Georgia.

Douglas is getting exactly what he wanted man. I wouldn't tell another man that I wanted to go to hell because he chose to go somewhere other than tech. Douglas is not a tech man and would have been a thorn in this teams chemistry. He is a self absorb guy with a head full of confidence. He went where he always wanted to go but he was to stupid to see that UGA wanted him because they knew he could hurt UGA and not to help mr. Douglas. St. Richt done his job.

I guess you don't remember John Dewberry and Tyrone Sorrells. They both learned the hard way that the cesspool was just that---a cesspool. And they both contributed in big ways at Tech, especially Dewberry. I'll take anybody from there who sees the light and wants to better himself.

Nah. From reading between the lines, he wants to play offense. Uga probably told him he could play rb, so he went there. Then, during his freshman year, they recruit 3 more tailbacks and promptly move him to DB after the year ends. He could have a huge axe to grind. Not to mention it will help even out some Aback class balancing. And he can return kicks.
I trust PJ. If he is a problem he won't be here long. Give the dude a chance.

How long was Dewberry at uga?
I ask because Green could go down in the record books:
Beat Tech at ugag
Lose to Tech at ugag
See the light and sits out a year at Tech
Helps Jackets to their 3rd and 4th win in a row over ugag.

That is picking the right side of history. It would be even weirder to be 1-1 at both schools, but I like my scenario better

I remember them well and was sitting in the north stands at the '85 fog game. I appreciate what they accomplished at Tech. I was much younger then so maybe as I grow older my hatred for the cesspool is getting stronger. Lol. Assuming we take him I'm sure he will do fine but God help him if he ever screws the pooch against the mutts. Hopefully in time he will come to hate them as much as I and many others hate them.

Forgot about his return ability...this could be HUGE for us. He's a great return specialist. He'll help us remember the good times that Jamal Golden provided in the return game

Wow. He'll be able to play when Xavier Gantt is a freshman (assuming he commits here). Throw in a sophmore Cottrell, and the speed and quickness at A-back between those guys will be crazy. Plus we'll have MLD and Leggett at B-back and a senior JT at QB. That backfield will be insane.

I understand what you're saying brother, I really do but if JJ wants to be here I want him here... he will help us.
We going for that 5th NC and need as many contributors as we can get at AB... as often and as well as we run the ball, every capable AB we have will get work, and lots of it..!
This class we have coming in will not be effected at all by JJ coming here... we work a lot of guys in every game and need the depth to win that 5th.

FSU was able to hold us off last night because of depth.. with the injuries they've had this year and last night... without their depth we would have run them straight out of the stadium last night. We have got to build depth to get us through tough season closing games.

Once he chooses us, and our coaching staff wants him, he's a Jacket to me... I say come on in... and WELCOME!

This ...... In 1981, Milton High School's senior quarterback John Dewberry signed up to play for Vince Dooley's Georgia Bulldogs. Dewberry had enjoyed a fairly competitive recruitment between Dooley and Bill Curry but decided to go the Dog route "handing the ball off to Herschel". Dewberry's first season in Athens was anything but spectacular on and off the field. Dewberry never threw a pass for the Bulldogs in 1981 and transferred to Tech amidst the uproar of angry fans on both ends of Highway 78.

Dewberry never really explained why he transferred to Tech but another UGA to Tech transfer, tight end Tyrone Sorrells, cited the following reasons for his own transfer to Tech in a 1984 AP article: ...[Sorrells] later complained Georgia overlooked players' academic progress for the sake of football and said he disliked living with the football team apart from the rest of the university...

Don't forget A. J. Gray from Washington County --- Gator Ade player of the year from Georgia

I appreciate your passion as I too despise the Mutts. But look at the benefits for CPJ from a recruiting perspective. If JJ comes to Tech and is successful, we have a specific example to in-state running backs who fit the mold of our offense of how Richt's recruiting pitch is a load of bull. There is really only one RB spot on the field at UGA. We've got 3 on every play, with liberal subs at A-B due to how we run the plays in. We don't need in-state RBs in Georgia thinking the Dwags are the only show, and we can show them their talents will be used on offense, not being switched to safety the first time some 5 star pro-style prototype feature back gets recruited behind you.
