I hope that we are able to get all 3 games in this weekend. Also, I hope that Hall decides to start Brandt Stallings at first or in right this weekend. Is Stallings hurt? This has bugged me all year as Stallings is one of our more talented players and McCann is really struggling right now.

Given that Kel and McCann don't field consistently well at first, I'm all for auditions. It's never too late to get ready for the future (next year).

Looking at the rain probability in Blacksburg, Saturday is out and Sunday is iffy. Especially if they get 1.5 inches of rain on Saturday. https://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Blacksburg,+VA I like starting at 11 AM. Play a triple header tomorrow and get it over. 11AM, 3PM and 7PM. No one wants to cram make-up games in the week before the ACC tourney and burn out pitchers.

If we don't win the series this weekend, I think we are going to be lucky to make the ACC tourney. If we do, have to win the ACC tourney to go to the NCAAs. At 4-14 in the ACC we have been beyond bad and are into dismal.

Looks like they are going with Curry and Shaddy with Sunday's starter TBD. Predicting Keyton Gibson or Jake Lee.
I'd think Lee most likely. Schneiderjans is out as an option being too quick or a turnaround from yesterday to Saturday. Although it really only gives Lee 3 days rest as well.

I don't think Hall has given Stallings a chance this year. It would not surprise me if he left the program. The only problem is where to play him. The great year Poge is having has dictated that he be in the line up.

Based on (recent) previous seasons, I do not think the ACC does anything to makeup conference games. There simply is no opportunity to do that. The final weekend series is played Thur-Sat and the ACC Tournament begins on the following Tuesday. They do all they can during the particular scheduled series weekend by adjusting schedules in light of forecast weather to make sure all 3 games are played... see this weekend's schedule for the VT series (they are trying... but it may be futile).

Last year, only 6 teams managed to complete all 30 conference games. FSU played the fewest (26).

The conference standings... and therefore, tournament seedings are based on winning percentage. Which gets me to the importance of our 11:00 game today. The Blacksburg weather appears to be bad enough that this 1st game "may" be the only game played in Blacksburg this weekend. Now... forgive me for doing a lot of "ifs" here... but, if we do only play VT once, it could end up being a "play-in" game for the tournament. BECAUSE... if we end up with the same winning percentage as VT AND we're tied for 12th in the conference standings... the 1st tiebreaker is head to head. GO JACKETS!! WIN THIS NEXT ONE (my new 2017 motto).

Stop me if you've heard this before...

B1: 1-out walk... dude scores on a double.

Jackets down 1-0 through one.

Plenty of time left... but Man!! ...we just can't NOT do that stuff, can we?
Hall has to stop playing McCann. He strikes out with runners on 1st and 2nd (is now hitting just a couple points above the Mendoza line) and he compounds the strikeout by making an error to let a runner on in the bottom of the inning.
